Aeroponics and height restrictions.

Due to security issues I have to significantly reduce the height of my grow cab. I have 26" to grow in. I am running a 400w digi mh at the moment, although may have to drop down to 250w. I figure I need 4-5" for the light. Prob 8-12" gap between light and plant.
I have a cooltube which would take up 8.5" and prob would need 4-8" gap.
That leaves me 9-14".
I have 53" x 23" floor space to grow in.
I have a 650 cfm fan and carbon filter, with awesome airflow from the bottom - all air comes from holed floor (think air hokey table)

I would like to grow 2 plants (due to legal restrictions), one pure indica (from clone) and a hybrid sat dom(from fem seed).

My plan is to run a screen across the entire area, veg with lst till the screen is about 1/4 full, and then flower while continuing to tie down onto the screen, with the intent of getting lots of small but tight buds.

I'll put the screen 4" above the medium.

That leaves me 5-10".

What size pvc pipe, or fence post would i need to use?

I'm hoping that I can get away with a 4" pipe, that way I can get a heap of 1-6" buds across the screen, and not have to drop down to a 250w.

Essentially I'd top the plant as soon as its possible. Veg the plant as high as possible without heat damage. Then lst that growth in a circle and let all the branches grow up, and pull them outwards to make use of lenght and width. I'd supercrop to keep heights in check. If I do it this way I will use fluoros to veg to 10-16", then tie down in a circle.

Am I dreaming? What size pipe or fence should I be using?

Yeah was wondering what size pipe to use. I should do some more research about how roots develop.

I know that 4-5 gallons, in dwc, will allow me to grow as big as is reasonable under a 400w, without root lock. But i'm not allocating nearly as much space in this aero setup and don't want to be root bound.

If I were to grow in a container which was 15"x15"x5"heigh which held 3-4 gallons, would this be the same as growing in a normal bucket which held 3-4 gallons?

so ur asking about the pipe to use as a frame to put ur screen over, right?

5 inches high? well it isnt ideal but i dont see why u wouldnt get results, may not be the best results but buds are buds.
