so this is my first post,, i've been reading up on this site for about 5 or 6 months now.
its really inspired me, and ive got a ton of great info on this site.
So heres where im at.. (pretty deep in the financial investment.)
Im adapting stinkbuds aeroponic veg units into a perpetual sog setup.
there are four units total to flower in. 6 plant sites in each.
each dual chamber unit is made with 2 18 gal tubs.
i have a 400 gph water pump in the bottom res container with a pvc sytem leading to 360* misters in the top container sraying up to the plant sites.
on the lid is 6 2" net pots with neoprene collars for the sog plants. im not using a medium.
The idea is to keep the roots in the top container and out of the water, but im guessing the roots will get long and find their way to the bottom.
i put a wire mesh around the pvc were the hole from the bottom to the top container is, but im afraid it wont be enough.
if the roots do grow into the bottom res, do i need to aerate the water with airstones, or will the water pump be enough. im also worried about clogging my pump with roots.
the flowering room is in my ~4x5x7~ walk in closet. i have a 173 cfm 4" duct fan pulling from a carbon filter into my attic.
i have 4 6" circulating fans on each corner of the room about a foot above the plant sites. and i also have reflective mylar on the walls.
For lights im using 2 GrowBright 4 Foot 4 Lamp HO T5 fixtures. One fixture for 2 units longways. they'll be running 12/12.
For nutrient and ph testing im using a HANNA HI 98129 pH EC TDS °C Combo Tester that i found for like $130 online.
And i'll be using the same nutrients as stinkbud. Botanicare: pure blend pro bloom, as well as liquid karma, cal mag, and sweet.
Im also running a cap art-dne cycle timer for the pumps, 1 minute on, 5 minuts on. i bought a contactor to save my timer, but haven't figured out how to connect it yet.
Another thing im unsure about is drying. i dont have much room for anything else, but i was thinking of building Al B Fucts bud dryer and just placing it in the flower room..?
besides all that im keeping my mothers (1 at the moment and 2 as soon as i can cut myself another) in a 2x3x4 plywood cab with 100cfm of pc fans for ventilation under a 150w HPS running at 18/6.
i plan on taking 10 cuttings(4-6") every 2 weeks. im just using soil for the mothers. fox farm ocean forest and fox farm grow big.. Its not doing extremely well at this point.
there are some purple stems and yellowing on most of those leaves with black spots. not too sure what this could be, but im using about a teaspoon per gal with arrowhead water. ph is 5.6 going in and ppm about 575..
it has been a little hot in my cab lately, up to 85.8* at canopy level.. but now that problem is fixed.
my tap water is very hard, and i will be needing lots of water(about 15 gals per unit, and res changes every couple weeks., so i need to break down and buy an RO filter hows this look?
