Hey y’all.
On my first grow I didn’t use any and late in flower they definitely needed a little more than they had. I want to flip to flower in the next week or two, depending on the weather (some plants are going outside before I flower).
So..
Today I went and got some bloom nutrients.
I picked up Fox Farms Big Bloom, some silica, and Supernaturals Bud Blaster. I also have some compost tea and Roots Organic Extreme Serene.
I definitely don want to burn my plants. I use the tea with every watering and the Roots Organic once every two weeks. I’ve seen a little mag lockout/copper tox? Seems to have quit after a normal watering.
Using FFOF/HF mixed with perlite, EWC and mykos.
Any tips on flowering nutrients? Been watching a lot of videos and reading. So far I plan on using silica for the first 2-3 weeks of flower. The Fox farms a little longer than that. The bud blaster once at preflower and a few times again in the last few weeks. I also have botanical gardens bloom that I didn’t plan on using.
Sorry for the blast of info but I’m kinda just overwhelmed by the amount of info I’ve been taking in the last week.
Much love and happy growing!

A lot of times growers get in trouble a few weeks into bloom because they switch from veg to bloom fertilizer the day they change to 12/12. I stay with veg fertilizer for at least the first week of 12/12 and slowly transition over to bloom fert. The explosive growth during the stretch needs N. Also a lot of the bloom feed charts are super high in K. I try to be at 1:1:2 ratio of N : P : K in bloom. High K can give you problems with lockout especially with Mg that shows up the third week of flower.

Silica and growing in soil? The plant will get all the silica it can use from the soil! Supplementing it in soil growing is useless....

Dump the FF BIG BLOOM and the "Bloom Booster". Your looking to burn your plants or cause high P problems - FAST. Look at the Botanicare KIND line. Simple, easy to use, infinitely adjustable for any strains needs AND charted well!

You never need "boosters" if you learn to grow properly...

I like telling newbies to cannabis growing to "Grow an African Violet". If you can get that to flower. You will have all the skills you need to grow cannabis. It's all there, soil, feed, pH needs, temps and lighting times.

Treat cannabis like a tropical plant - NOT a "Tomato".....

I honestly think I’ve got most of it pretty down. Not hardcore or anything but I understand most of ph, lighting, times and temps.
The soil and feed is where I’m just a little stuck. I amended my soil a little this time, but like I said last time I know my bud could have been better if it had that extra boost at the end.
I had seen people using silica in their soil grows online, a lot of them recommended it!

I wasn’t too sure about the booster. Are you talking the Bud Blaster or the bloom nutrients I have? The bud blaster is a ripener only for the last few weeks and to help along starting flower.
I really want to get a few grow books and read them. The internet is great but this requires book knowledge for me.
