Advice for unhealthy plants.

I was given four plants 10 days ago & I have no idea what I'm doing. I've been reading online & watching YouTube videos to get this far. I'm on a very tight budget and had to make do with what supplies I could afford for now.

A few days ago, I repotted them into bigger pots, fertilized & got them on light schedule (18 light/6 dark). They didn't look great at that point, some light spots on leaves and wilting, but I hoped that water & nutrients would help. Upon inspecting today, things unfortunately seem to be getting worse.

I've looked up symptoms online, and found so many things that could be wrong that I'm pretty overwhelmed. Not sure where to go from here.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Looks a little like thrip damage. Id check for bugs. Also you will need much more light than that. Home depot, real cheap, socket extendor, and a socket splitter will let you run two bulbs out of that one socket, or just put em outside with some randome shit around em for now. Till you can get a grow light.

I have to agree with Alienwidow them look like Thrips for sure. Unless you sprayed them with hard water or something like that and it dried.
That may be the reason someone gave them to you. get something like a mag, glass or microscope and see if you can detect them,
They are tiny, have wings and fast moving, about 1-1.5 mm long and hard to spot. they are Gray White, and dark in color,
Check for them by looking under the leaves and shake the plant abit you should see them Jump even though they have wings.
The eggs are almost impossible to see with the naked eye.
You need to get them under control before they get to the point you have an impossible time trying to remove them little buggers.
They have sticky traps blue or pink work best. and you can mist them to prevent them from traveling around the plant.
Homemade sprays like tobacco-nicotine base sprays Commercial pyrethrum, synthetic pyrethrum. Insecticidal soaps,
apply two to four times at five to ten day intervals.
As for your lights get the double socket as stated above or move it to a better light source, and she should perk back up.
Good luck and welcome to RIU...

Thanks for the help!

Upon closer inspection I did find some very small insects. They looked light green or yellow though it was hard to tell as they are so tiny.

I have put in some more lights and some better bulbs as well. I sprayed them with an insecticidal soap around lights out tonight so will see how they do.

Some of the leaves are pretty burnt looking. I don't think it's from the lights as they are pretty far away & it's staying cool in the box. Does this look like it might be from the bugs?

Sorry the photos aren't great, I didn't want to mess with the timer to turn the lights back on.

Thanks again!

I my opinion you should scrap them by the time you get the problem corrected and recovery time your looking at close to three weeks even if you just grow for fun the last thing you want is bugs, start fresh, like the guys stated above get some better lights if you shop around you can find them cheap my first light was a 1000 watt trifecta kit $135 New , bulb, hood and ballast I just ordered a 1000 watt dimmable off Amazon for $190, and the most important part of growing is genetics. It's sure fun to grow a bag seed just out of curiosity but when it takes 15 weeks to flower it sucks lol start off with a very fast flowering strain less time for mistakes... and the best of luck any way you go

I was about to say the same. You are starting with too many issues that you are not skilled enough to deal with and your pocket book cant handle. Get some seeds ordered in and start over. Hopefully by then your spider mites will be gone. But I would douse that area with some cheap Bayer 3n1 or equivelant and clean that whole grow area. Keep watching the vids and reading up in the meantime.

I thought the problem was not enough light

That and bugs check the leaves in the pics. The light isn't that big of a deal I've seen guys get ok results with $30 dollar shop lights but the bugs especially being a new grower can really become a problem. I don't even buy clones or have other growers in my room just because it sucks to have all the time and money involved to be ruined by an infestation.

$30 shop lights ? I thought lights was the most important thing i was going to pay $300 for 2 1000 watts lights for a 10x10 grow tent

It's important for someone who has some grows under his belt, you can have 5 1000 watt lights but if you have no clue what ph your water is, or your ppm or even what dirt to use your yield will dramatically be reduced. I was just trying to steer him away from somebody else's problem that's all and a maybe next grow then he can upgrade beyond the local home depot for better lights.
