Advice for Tinctures?

I’d really love to make a tincture but I genuinely don’t want to use alcohol. I hate hate hate hard liquor and the taste/smell of it and I really think it would ruin the tincture for me. I heard Apple cider vinegar works well also and glycerin too, but they’re not as potent. I don’t want to have to sacrifice potency but it’s seeming like I’ll have to. Any advice on whether I should just suck it up and use alcohol? Or maybe stick to apple cider vinegar? I’ve never made a tincture so any advice at all is very appreciated. Also I’ll be using about an ounce and a half of trim and like 9 grams of hash.

We make coconut oil drops, just like a tincture but tastes better and no alcohol.

The simplest way to make canna coco oil drops is the Magical Butter machine but I've made it from dry sift and BHO.

I use fractionated coconut oil, liquid at room temperature.

Good luck!

If you don't want to use alcohol which I don't understand why you wouldn't because when you make candies, gummies, lollipops, taffy, tootsie rolls etc, etc, all of the alcohol is 100% burned off! Anyway, first make bubble hash, then after it is somewhat dry, break it up and place it on parchment paper and bake it in the over at 245F for 24 minutes, then freeze it, then peel it off the parchment paper and place it in a sealed jar to use it when you want. But if you do it that way, you will lose a lot of the weeds myrcene terpenes along the way!

Are you consuming the tincture directly? If so, vegetable glycerin all the way. No alcohol breath.

Look up master wu’s green dragon I followed it to the T and melted 2 people’s brains with 10ml doses 325f for 5 min then a simmer no need for long cook times
I'm a mmj patient and cannot smoke so i use green dragon with 10ml of 190 for every gram of cannabis.I put 3 ML in a cup of hot tea and don't taste the alcohol. the alcohol seems to help me absorb the THC

Ive heard you can make an alcohol extract and then let almost all the alcohol evaporate. You’re left with the base thc concentrate which you could suspend in an oil. I’ve never done this but, I feel like it would work.
it is done when making e-juice. mix the infused alcohol with coconut outdoors away from anything flamable brin a pan of water to a boil on an electric hot plate place your mix in a wige mouth container and place this in the boiling water until the white steam stops and you no longer smell alcohol.whats left is a oil based tincture. only use grain alcohol for this

By it's very definition any TINCTURE uses ethanol as the solvent, If you don't use ethanol/alcohol, you're making something other than a tincture.
It's been this way since Christ was a corporal.

I want to try this, I’m so inexperienced though I don’t want to fuck it up

just be careful about fires. open well ventalated area away from flammables and reduce heat to slow boil while cooking off the alcohol. people have burne down their homes making this king of extract 190 grain alcohol is extremely flammable

It does work. I use olive oil. Be watchful at the end cooking off the alcohol. You can get a chunk of tar. But at that point you add the olive oil. A rice cooker on the “Warm” setting is perfect. Start small until the tar is emulsified. Then add more for dilution.

Why not just make canna oil instead of the extra step of making alcohol tincture.

Also, I think if you’re looking for an extremely strong concentration, alcohol extraction works best for getting the most trichomes and other goodies down into a very small amount of space. That’s the base and you can adjust it to fit your dosage easier by adding more or less oil/alcohol.

So everything else not made with ethyl alcohol would be considered an extract?

Google “another tincture thread” . It will take you to another forum. I dont care much for that forum but that particular thread is absolutely invaluable. The gentleman who started the thread years ago still maintains and keep the over thousand page thread up to date. The end of the very first post also has an Index I recommend starting with. Thread is rich with data.
