Short summary of my growing past:

Ive been in the game just over a year and have done particularly well. Ive only ever grown Kush and have only ever grown SeaOfGreen (ie between 50-130 plants per light) and have only ever grown in soil. With 600 watt bulbs my best pull was 1.4 lbs per light after 2 months (5day veg 56 day flower) and with 1000watts it was 2.5lbs per light after 2 months. But now I am completely changing my growing style and I need your help!

Instead of 130 plants per 1000w bulb i'm changing to One plant per 1000w bulb or even one plant per 1x1k bulb +1or2 600w bulbs.
Reason being ive become fully legitimate medical grower and have a plant limit (25 plants) and want to maximize yield with with the legal amount of plants.

Goal (which i think is reachable within half a year) is 4 lbs per plant. 4x25=100lbs twice a year.

How im gunna do it:
1) your help
2) Heavy yielding trees (probably jack herrer?)
3) Growin in Coco
4) TONS OF LIGHT from 1000w-2200w per plant
5) Room to grow (10-12 foot ceilings)
6) Heavy co2
7) Proper training/nutrients
8) Immaculate plant care
9) State of the art growroom
10) canna boost

QUESTIONS: (if anyone can answer these all you are my god)
1) When researching trees it seems people are using multiple 600w bulbs instead of any 1000watts. Why is this and is this the best way? Dont 1000 watts emit light deeper? Can a combination of 600 and 1000 be better? IE 1 1000w on top plus two vertical hanging 600watts around the edges? Your thoughts please

2) Coco has seemed to be the best medium for growing giant trees (10 footers hopefully). Any objections? plus what kind of coco?

3)Strain. So far as i can tell im finding jack herrer to be a very heavy tree yeilder, but anyone know of any other strains that grow giant in size and massive buds? Would love to find out! and i know theres comparable if not heavier yielders than jack herrer.

4) Switching to hydro/coco: Considering ive never grown anything but soil what am i looking at in terms of switching to 20gallon pots of coco? I know the basics but if anyone could run over the fundamentals for me would really appreciate.

5) Proper pruning/training for giant canopies. So we have 6 pruning methods to think about:
1)Topping
2)Fimming
3)Supercropping
4) Semi-lollipoping (or just pruning lower branches)
5) Bending
6) No pruning

Firstly what square footage am i going to need for one big tree? you think 5x5 are will do or should we go 6x5 or 6x6? The shades will probably be adjust-a-wings depending on what size and probably some vertical shade-less supplementary lights.
PRUNING: Which/What combo of the 5 options should i use to maximize yield potential? early FIMMING, or early Supercropping? Pruning lower branches or leaving them? Bending during veg and tying up during flower etc. Would love input.

General question: Is flushing really a myth? If so why do so many people flush and are insistant on flushing?

Im sure I will have more questions to come, the project will be starting in a couple months so i wanna jam pack my brain with info from all sides to get the best results!

thanks for reading

PS I know ive flamed ppl like a stupid child before on these forums and i genuinely apologize for those actions, still got some growin up to do..

Growing a ten foot high plant indoors is counterproductive and wasteful, unless it's an indoor greenhouse.

If you're looking to maximize your yield while taking into account plant counts, just do a screen of green, with one plant per 1000W taking up a 4x4 or 5x5 footprint, at about 3-5 feet tall.

HIDs only penetrate ~3 feet down, so why grow a ten foot tall plant?

And the idea to lollipop a ten foot tall plant is kinda silly, man.

If you're set on 10 foot trees and are a legal grower, I'd definitely just build a greenhouse and do that - running 25 1000HPS is going to run your pockets like you wouldn't believe.

Also, four pounds from a 1K is unheard of, especially when growing in as inefficient system as 10 foot tall plants in coco - maybe with 150 clones per 1K in a vertical setup you could sniff that number, but I'd be surprised if you consistently got half of that.

Anyways, that's about all I can chip in to the argument - whatever you end up doing, good luck.

P.S. - respect that you've taken responsibility for your previous behavior - very stand up move.

How is growin a 9-10ft tall plant indoors wasteful if u can pull 3-4lbs a plant?

/QUOTE]

I think u missed where i said using supplementary verticle hanging 600 watt bulbs to penetrate deeper and lower(1600-2200watts per plant), and by lollipop i think u missed where i said Semi-lollipop as in just pruning lower foliage/branches to promote upper growth.
Ive seen plants on RIU over 3.5lbs so why not 4lbs? also once again not 4lbs from a 1k im no magician! that would be if i used full 1k plus 2 supplementary 600w

Thanks for the reply keep it coming!

So you're planning on running ~2000 watts per plant, and running 25 plants?

Are you renting out or buying a factory?

Because you can't just wire up your house for 500 amps, to my knowledge - regardless, I'm sticking by my story that 4 lbs. from a plant is an unreachable goal, unless you're growing 20 foot monsters outdoors, and even then it's pretty rare.

Again, good luck to you, but I think most are going to agree that your plan needs some "tweaks", to say the least.

It definitely needs tweaks, and thats what your here for bob!
Let me delve a bit further-> yes i am a commercial grower and yes im looking for big profits. but these days where i live you can do it legally and medically aswell.
As for my location it is no house, 2500sq feet of industrial space wired 600amp service, and my budget is limitless. If you propose a way i can stay legal plant-limit wise and be more efficient/productive economically please let me know!!

Cheers

All right, last post and then I'll let the people who grow trees chime in - with a limitless budget, why not build a state of the art greenhouse somewhere?

Your yields will compare reasonably well with using 50,000 watts (better some seasons (summer), less others (winter)), and since you're commercial, your profit will be higher because of the lessened expense of 50,000 watts/month (not sure what that is, but it's gotta be in the $5-$10K range per month, no?).

Also, you could grow 20 footers and the light would reach much, much further down the plant because the sun's usable lumens don't decline over a 20 foot length.

Just my $.02.

No, you can automate a black cloth to shade the entire greenhouse, thereby making it light for as long as you'd like.

During the winter, you'll need some supplemental light.

dont see why it wouldnt work with a very good 12 week veg. to get nice thick stalk and branches and to get good hieght. hope it works, dont see why it wouldnt. Just like vegging outdoors from may to end of july and bringing them inside to flower.

How big? How many lights? How tall? E gads man, the good Lord gave us the sun in his infinite wisdom, take hold its choice fruits!

I'll be honest with you.

You need to bring me on board to make this thing FLY.

Why Ol' BB57^?

Because I believe.
I have 41 years growing outside and 10 yrs inside.

You have 2500 sq ft and 600 amps wired?
Oh baby. I gotta find Red, I'm getting wood.
I am a master scrogger. I live and breathe DWC.
Right now I get 2 grams per watt. I'm working on 3.
I will get 4.

But then again, probably would not work out. I'm too OCD about my Labs and cleanliness.

Good luck on the venture,

bb57^
