my tap water ph is 7.3 when i feed the plant with nutes the ph is about 6.0. i think my goal is to have ph at 6.5. i have ph up and down. so when i add plain water i use ph down and when i feed i add ph up. is that what every one has to do? does every one use ph up and down every time they water? using the ph up and down every time i water is alright with the plant?

Since I'mo n my first grow I just fill up 5 gallons from those water machines around supermarkets and stuff. Get's a little expensive but my tap water is like 8.0 lol.

I take 5 gallons of water and test the PPM and the PH. Then I start mixing nutes into the tank as per the online nutrient calculator PPM levels. Once I reach the desired PPM values then I re-check for PH. I adjust it down just a little using ph down from general hydroponics. I do this three times to fill my reservoir then recheck final ppm and ph levels.

I change my reservoir every 2 weeks, on the last feeding before the change I test the run off coming out to see whats happening there as well.

Your PH value will be different based on your grow medium.
