Adding veg CFLs during flower with 400w HPS

Right now I have 7 ladies all just about four and a half weeks into flowering and they are under a 400w HPS light. I was hearing about adding a few CFLs that you would use for vegging in as well during the flowering, and that it would increase the potency. Is there any validity to this, or was this person just crazy?

Hey man as for potency i really can't say theres any validity to this, i mean with more light you always increase growth but in the flowering stage we switch to HPS because MH lights dont have a high amount of useable red spectrum light, so logically if the plant ceases using as much blue light then adding more, once again, logically, probably wont increase potency, even though I know someone is gonna come on hear and say something different I'm just stating a logical answer based on experience and known facts.

I am aware of why we use each light and how the plant uses the spectrum of light during its different stages, which is why I was confused by what this person said to begin with and why I was asking! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on some ridiculous technique that somehow increases potency. I guess he must have been just talking out of his ass, because I checked around before posting and couldn't find anything related to it. You know, better safe then sorry when it comes to cool new things that increase how nice your results are.
