Adding nutirents to reservoir

'm going with an Aeroflo2 36 and it comes with a 40 gallon reservoir, I was told to up the nutrients to 300PPM for clones which seems reasonable and up it 100PPM til flowering. My question is this:

The instructions on the bottle says (X) ml per liter, so if i splurge nutrients to fill the reservoir 30gallons, do I have to flush it and change it every week? If so, wont i be wasting nutes?

Also, I plan to fill them in a seperate water cooler jug (19L) to mix, then add into reservoir, if im supposed to up it from 400PPM for example, into 500PPM, do I just make it 500PPM in the cooler jug? or will that change it to 450... (400 and 500 meeting in the middle)

Thanks for any help, Happy Smoking! bongsmilie

Well you need a PPM/TDS meter to see where your water is at before you start then add the amount you desire to the ppm desired minus the starting ppm.

Always start little smaller and give your plants more as they need as it is easier to give them more then too much on them.

I *never* ever use the recommended amount per any bottle I use, it has been always less sometimes WAY less. Only thing you can do is have your plants tell you what they need hopefully you can recognize it and adjust your nutes accordingly.

It is always about what and what amount works for you and your plant, never what anybody else uses or what the bottle says. It's a good baseline but proceed with caution until you know what your soup will do to your plants.
