Adding More Light!

hi guys, just wondering if anyone can help me. again!!. I have bought a 300w red spectrum cfl to add to my tent. I currently have a 600w dual spectrum hps, and three strong girls on veg, looking to flip in about a week. The question is... do i just plug in and go with my 600w and 300wcfl when i make the flip, OR will the extra light stress my mature vegging girls in hermie???
I heard that more light is better and wanted to increase light without any significant heat increase, i am cowboying at the moment and do not have total control over my temps, hence manually venting at light on/off.

If you have enough space to keep the light the correct distance away then I don't see why you should have any problems.

as kizz said if you have enough height room put them at the ery top an over the corse of a week-10 days lower them to where they should be

going by what you have 600w would put out 92,000 lumen an i think your cfl is about the 25,000 lumen mark just say 120,000 lumen mark i would put it between 36"-40" above the canopy if you want to be safe,
i run a 600w an have approx 16"-18" above canopy from start of flip withy no stress but before i flip i sit them in dark for 36-48 hours depending on which time i want my lights to come on 6am-6pm 7am-7pm 8am-8pm its up to you,
you could start with 600w when you do flip start at 20" above canopy have this run for a week see what your temps an humidity are etc then add the cfl an reduce your light distance to where it should be,
put your hand on top of the canopy if its burning your hand after a few mins the higher it if its nice an cool/warm then you will be ok an adjust light hieght as they stretch for the first 2-3 weeks hope it helps abit if i missed something out or it is wrong please correct me thanks N.T.D

Dont put that CFL in the light reflector with your HPS, or directly under it, as all it will do is make a big shadow, and stop sum light from your HPS, if you do use it, add it as side lighting.

ok. dog, are you saying that i cxant use it?? was hoping to put up cfl next to 600w near the top of the tent??? cant use it as side lighting. the bulb is fucking huge.

I added one to my HPS reflector sum time ago, and with a light meter i lost lumens!
But you could try vertically hanging the CFL light at the end of the reflector, or at the side of the tent just below the refletor. good luck.

sorry dog, maybe im stoned but i still dont understand.. how do i add to a reflector that has only one female screw socket?? ive gopt another reflector for the 300w cfl, and wanted to put them side by side.. where is the shadow/loss of lumens from??
