Hi, this is my first time growing, just bought 5 feminized white widow from Nirvana, and i will try to grow it indoors with CFL. I did some research and learned many things, but i still need some info,,,,for example: i know that i need 2 types of cfl's, 6500K for veg, and 2700k for flowering, so i'm thinking about buying 2 x 25W(6500k) and 2 x 25W(2700k) each one produces about 1600 lumens, so i'll have 6400 lumens total. Will that be enough? Keep in mind that i will grow only 1 plant each time. Should i leave all then on, during veg and flw? Or only the 6500k during veg and the 2700k during flw? I also noticed that Nirvana sells germination kit and Soiltabs, i'm thinking about buying it to have the best possible start for my plants. Will it be worth it? Any help with my questions will be very much appreciated. Thanks

Hey hows it going i just started indoor growing with cfl's too. Now for your lighting question... You always want tou use a lighting ratio of 2:1. For example try using 3 6500k daylight bulbs and 1 2700k softwhite bulb and the opposite for flowering. But the more light the better, just make sure you have some ventilation dont want it getting to hot in there

Django Boy, I think you are okay to get started with a couple of 6500K CFLs and a 2700K CFL to a while. But, when the plant starts growing larger, you will need more light. As Argentino619 said, you should run more 6500K CFLs during vegetation, and more 2700K CFLs during flowering stage, but add a little of the other spectrum to broaden out the lighting so that not all light is of one spectrum. So, if you use 3 6500L CFLs during vegetation, use one 2700K CFL also--if you use 3 2700L CFLs during flowering, use one 6500K CFL also. You may want to consider at least 42 watt CFLs as future purchases. You can get these online at 1000bulbs.com.

Thanks everyone for helping! Now about the lamps,,,I've read that a 25W cfl is more efficient than 42W or 55W and etc....because a 25W delivers about 1600-1700 lumens and a 42W delivers 2800-3000 lumens, so if I use more 25W lamps I'll have even more lumens total. 1 x 42W = 3000 lumens and 2 x 25W = 3400 lumens, and that's what is all about, the total of lumens, isn't it? 6000 - 7000 lumens for 1 plant will be enough? About the space a have, it's only a little more than 60 x 60cm. Thanks again...

ok well i was tuaght to use 3000 lumen per sq foot minimum

60cm=23.62inchs about

round that to 24, call it 2 foot.

so i guess youd say 3000 lumen per 30cm sq.

for a total of 8 bulbs MIN. for a total of 13600 lumens

at 200w. some 200w mh bulbs can produce 20000 lumen

but you get alot more heat.

the decision be yours matey. (arrrrrrr)

wait wait i have a better one

you must choose
but choose wisely
for while the true grail brings life
the false grail brings only death

hehehehehehe

Thanks dude... so i guess that I'll start with 3 or 4 25W (6500k) for veg and then add 4 or 5 25W (2700K) for flw. Could you or anyone tell me what are the White Widow preferences about growing in general (light, water, fertilizer, and etc) or if there is none. Thanks...
