well my first grow was done a few weeks ago. took like a month and a 1/2 longer than expected but im finally done. got less than a 1/2 oz. off 2 small plants.....pretty lame. well any ways im bout to start my second grow later this week.
i took out everything out of my grow box, and wiped the whole thing down with some windex.
i wiped down my 4' flourescents that i use for sidelight.
i checked the chords of my fixtures for the cfl's for cracks, burns, ect...
i cleaned my 3 fans....1 exhaust, 1 intake, and a 6 inch for circulation, shits were filthy.
i put every thing back in nice and clean, no more wires hanging from everywhere, getting in the way.
my first grow i was a learning experience, so hopefully ill get some better results.
im just waiting on my soil which a friend is dropping off because walmart is completly out(guess its that time a year) and some seeds from some decent bud, also being droped off. my good seeds were washed all i have left is shitty seeds from shitty bud that i dont want to use.

i got some ??? first tho

is there anything else i should do before i have my grow box up n running again??

my 1st grow was done mostly under 4'flourescents, all of veg, and 2 or 3 weeks into budding before i introduced the cfls. should i expect a bigger yield than last time, starting with both fluorescent and cfls?

also, right now i have the intake fan(pc) at the bottom and the exhaust(stronger pc fan) about a foot above. should i switch them, which will keep my room cooler?

thanks

i think you've got your fans right. hot air rises and you want your exhaust fan to take out the hot air . if i were you i would look at trying to pick up a cheap hps light to help increase your yields like High Tech Garden Supply . also i didn't see you mention nutes. what nutes have you been using or plan on using?

thats what i figured bout the fans, just wanted a second opinion because one is more powerful than the other. i didnt use any nutes on my last grow, just some molasses during budding on 1 of the plants. i just planned on just checking out home depot and seeing if they had anything. i checked out walmart but their plant section doesent seem to exist anymore(winter maybe?) figured id grab whatever looked best. i gotta find a flower shop or something.

How big is ur grow box?

I would try to sneak in a hps light. I cant see you raising ur yield much without upgrading ur lighting.

its not to big, its like 2 1/2' x 3 1/2' x 4 1/2 ' tall. i was also considering getting 1 or 2 of them 150w hps , that would be alot cheaper

Your box is a bit small for HPS lights without upgrading ventilation.

I suggest packing a few more CFLs in there, more lumens, less heat.

DEFINATELY get some nutes, I suggest going to a nursery, they'll have the nutes you need, and they'll have the dirt you want.

A nursery is where you bring your children when you're at work, some call it daycare. jk

A plant shop where you can buy shrubs, small trees, flowers, usually they have a greenhouse, right now they are probably selling pumpkins. ;)

A 150 hps only needs a breeze in and a breeze out nothing crazy. If i could find the damn link!!! Icmag has a 150 hps club and from browsing others lil setups, i see a lot of those small pc fans.

You should hook up a pic of ur box so you can get some "Real" advice.

The point is a 150W HPS puts out only 12k-14k lumens, which is what's important, a 400W HPS puts out 45k-50k lumens.

A t5 high power flourscent puts out 44k lumens, with hardly any heat compared to a 150, if you have some dough buy a t5, they're perfect for your application.

Lumen output is what's important.

And nutes are just as important.

Does that qualify as "real" advice.

I don't really feel like looking it up and posting a link to lumen output of a 4 fixture t5 satelite, but I assure you it's 44,000 lumens.

Check your facts, before you talk shit. :finger:

You douchebag, it's just one light, Satelite IV, it has 4 bulbs, same one I've been talking about this whole time.

You called me out on bullshit, and I proved you wrong, btw, way to -rep me back, when you're the dumbass

It's not like I give a shit -1 point, hahahaha

As far as vague, and impractical, the reason for the -rep you gave me

Wtf is vague, i posted a link to the exact system I'm talking about.

Wtf is impractical? It creates very low heat and has the same output as a 400W...

All I have to say, again, is check your facts before you talk shit :finger:
