about to give up

does anyone know how loud a 250 cfm inline fan is? just put a 400 hps in a closet 5x3x7. we started off with a 80cfm fan to pull heat off the hps, and another as a intake from a cooler room. we also have a oscillating fan to get the air moving. so far this all has been pretty useless. our temps are staying around 85-90f. sound is such a big issue here. anyone have any advice on how to lower these temps without making too much noise?

Inline fans are pretty loud. I have a 6" and a 4" and it's mostly the rushing air that's noisy. I have heard of people using fan speed controlers to lower the sound but haven't used one myself.
