Are all hps bulbs the same? I know there are different lumen ratings however, the cost of the higher lumen bulbs seem disproportionate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:leaf:

they are rated by wattage, higher the wattage the more lumens.

some are fancy and emit more blue light and cost more

besides the wattage rating there are two types

"regular" hps which emits alot of red light
and a fancy one that emits alot of red and some blue

In my first grow I used cfls, 6500k for veg, and 2700k for flower and got good results but I've realized you can't deny the power of hps for flower. I just want to be sure that I'm getting my money's worth with a 70.00 bulb when there are some out there for 13.00.
