about 15% of my seeds did not germinate - what can I do?

It has been 6 days of germination, about 85% have sprouted, most by the third day. I'm germinating in Rapid Rooters, and the ones that have not germinated I've open the rooters to see inside and the seeds have not even cracked open yet. Should I take them out and soak them in water? Or is there anything I can do to move them along, or are they just duds?

Are these bag seeds or viable strains?
The ones that haven't cracked yet, do they look slimy or smell funny?
I've had seeds take over 10 days to hatch and sprout, so I wouldn't give up just yet.

I would take them out if uncracked and soak them for a day or so and try them again in the rapid rooters, couldn't hurt but I would say they are just bad if they don't pop.

^^^^^ wha he said^^^^

I soak them first till they sink (in tap water)
Usually it's 3-6 hours sometimes overnight.
I have had a "failure to launch" one time and it was a Dinafem seed.

All my bag seeds popped.

Bless,
DZ

Yup yup what he said!! I always soak mine in tap water until they sink, then plant them.

Regardless of genetics, i always germ more seeds than is necessary. If reg seeds and i want say 4 females for sure ill germ 12 to 15 seeds, knowing it is a 50/50 shot getting a female and thT some might be duds or might sprout then just die anyway. Even with good genetics you dont know how old the seeds are or how they been stored so... err on the side of caution...

You want to put all the effort into the first to sprout these are more often than not the strongest and will produce the most same with clones i take double the amount the first to root i keep the others i bin,i do the same with seeds

Zactly....

However, sometimes there are suprises. Doin ak47 right now and most of the clones took a painful 18 days to root. A couple took 31days exactly. I planted those two anyway...with tiny roots... and guess what? One of them is the queen in my garden right now!! Lol

I've always used damp paper towels with seeds between them folded and put in a air tight mason jar, never had a seed that didn't sprout. Good luck

The seeds are all viable strains, Bodhi, Karma, Dynasty, Sannies, GGG. Interestingly I got 4 of Sannies Killing Feilds and none of them popped. GGG's Crimson Crush only 6 out of ten popped, and Karma's White OG V2 7 out of 10.

I'm going to talk to Sannie about the KF's as they are not right, I also had several other of his strains and they all popped nicely.

Anyway, I've put them in a glass of water and see if they will germinate that way, but I don't have a lot of hope cuz they just feel like duds to me. Gage Green Group are supposed to be excellent genetics but they were the poorest performers out of all 86 seeds I had (exept for the Killing Feilds), even the ones that popped are growing much slower than all my other seedlings.
