i've been thinking.. for someone who is flowering and had an exhaust fan and is worried about the smell.. i've figures out an easy way around it... it's almost a diy project but easy.... all you'll need is pine sol, mr.clean dish detergent.. and any other smelly (good) liquid that you can think of.. put it in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid and add it all to 3 gallons of water... hook up a big hose that is sealed to come from your exhaust that will go into the bucket.. about 2/3 way down into the water make a big hole in the cover to fit the hose into and hook the hose into it.. and seal it up with silocone sealent or alot of tape.. then use a drill to put about 30 holes in the cover (other then the one used for the hose..) leave these hole open.. when it is all put together turn your fan on.. the smell will go through the fan into the good smelling water and will take the bad smell away... i'd stir the mixture ever week or so to make sure that the smell is kept fresh.. and i replace the mixture once the good smell starts to disapate... one key thing is to make sure you have more good smelling liquid then water in the mix or the good smell will be reduced...

Idk. If you were to use ona maybe, but regular detergents won't cover up the smell that well.

You could put a substitute in the bucket of odor absorbing silica, or ona.

Or you could make a DIY carbon filter.

For extra caution I put a can of the "California Scents" in my exterior vent once a week, the fresh linen smells like laundry, perfect, like a dryer.

somethin might have been a little lost in the translation for me on this one. So, you take your exhaust, run ducting from the exhaust to the fan, and ducting from the fan to this bucket. turn the fan on after all is hooked up, and itll blow air that is being sucked out of the exhaust into the bucket??

is that right??

if so, lemme ask this - if your using a Vortex fan or one similar, and most people are, how is that gonna work ?i mean, youll have a blower basically blowing air fairly hard into a bucket of pinesol and water - wont the end result be pine sol being splashed everywhere?? i mean, even with all the holes in there, if the ducting is submerged in the solution, wouldnt it mean that it would push all of the liquid out of the bucket that it can? that cant be good for the plants...

no... you have the ducting through the cover and into the solution.. the cover is on the bucket and has abou 30 small holes into it.. the solution is only about half the bucket full and it is outside the growroom on the floor.. the water shouldn't slash out through the small holes any way.. andd soory for the misunderstanding about how much to fill the bucket upp because my bucket is more then 5 gallons...

Don't worry I didn't really understand it either, there are a lot of different ways of making an air freshener with a bucket.

How about putting an air stone into a bucket of water with essential oils, or spending some money on ona gel, or a carbon filter.

It's still a good idea to cover up the smell, but there are many better ways than pine-sol.
