this is my plan for 2013.any advice or constructive critisism is welcome.my soil is a bulk potting soil that already contains urea and lime.1 cubic yard of this with 50# of alfalfa meal,50 gallons of manure, and water crystals.this will go at 15 gallons in a large burlap bag.will bury this now.the burlap will retain moisture and it is poris enough that the roots can grow out.it also makes it easier to transport and there is no trash left behind.what do you think.also please some recomendations on a early finishing strain.i would need to be able to buy seeds.the strain would need to be a good producer.thank you

I haven't heard anything about Alfalfa meal, but when you say 50 gals. of manure, you don't mention what kind, how long it has been composting, or 50 gals. per how much soil.

the manure is horse.my uncle raises thorough breds.so i can add more if needed.some of it is up to 3 years old the stalls are cleaned often.so i can get it at any age.and it was 50 gallons to 1 cubic yard of potting soil.i am not sure what the alfalfa adds.but i have used it in my raised vegatable beds and you can tell a large difference in the ones without.i think it is alot like peas in that it fixes nitrogen to its roots.so it may be rich in that.i am sure someone here knows.yes it is for outside.also thank you for the responce

The alfalfa does add nitrogen to the soil. Horse manure is also good, but only if it is well composted. You might conside some bone meal in you mix as well for root developement. Outside of that it looks good to me.
