A few ?'s for the cannabis Gods

Okay so to start off i have three plants growin' under 2 T5 high output flouros (2 feet each), one grow spectrum, and one bloom spectrum for even growing thru out. I have kept the lights 1-2 inches from the tops of the plants, for 14-8 cycles. Growing in soil with perlite. I am usin foxfarm nutes (GrowBig 6-4-4 for grow, and TigerBloom 2-8-4 for bloom) I have a little fan for circulation of air as well as to strengthen the stalks. Also a home made Co2 (yeast and sugar) dispenser.

Now that all that is out of the way:roll: I was wondering if anyone has a setup similar to mine, and if anyone had any advice for me at all, I am always open to positive criticism. I do not have a camera yet to post pics (i know they would help tremendously)

Another question I had, was: On some of my larger fan leaves, after they get to a certain size they develope what look like little brown circular burn marks, or like the leaf is being eaten, but there are no holes thru the leaves, and shortly after thay appear the leaf starts to dry out, at that point i can get away with just cutting the leaf off and not hurting the growth of the plant. i just want to know what it is and how i can prevent it.

Thanx in advance

Welcome to the land of Ganja ThePumpknKing......

The first thing that grabbed me was the 14-8 cycle, is that a typo? Are you vegging, flowering or somewhere in limbo?

I have a frind who grows under T-5's, he swears by em.

So far as the spots are concerned, my first thought was you spilled water on the leaf, is that possible? T-5's do get hot, they will cause a brown spot if you spill water on the leaf.

Keep us posted, and get some pics! LoL
Peace

lol sorry about the typo 14-10 and im just vegging, and i know i should be on 18-6, or more but due to my living conditions that isnt possible without risking the entire operation. I like to be home when the lights are on. Paranoid...sure, but a paranoid grower is a mostly safe grower. And concerning the leaves, i thought i could be the foliar feeding at night when the lights go off, so I stopped , and they still appear. However I just stopped a few days ago, so we'll see.

No proble, but 14-10 is alot closer to flowering than it is to vegging, dont be surprised if you wake up one day, and your babies have had a difference of opinion with you, and decide to flower. LoL
It's all good though.
Peace

I have a similiar system as yours.

It's a t5 floro (FOUR - 4 foot tubes -- 20k lumens total). I had some plants like 2-3 inches from the light and noticed the tips of the leaves drying out and looking a little burnt (even though its only 78f at the top of the plant). I have since moved it to about 7 inches away from the plants. I havent seen much stretching yet from moving the lights, so I think those T5's might need to be further away from your plants?

When most people post on here saying keep the floro 1-2 inches away, they are normally talking about cheap t12's. I would try moving the light some and see how the plants respond.

I believe bwbig is correct on the distance, I seem to remember my friend having simular problems and moving the lights further away to about 7".

So far as the 16/8 question, go for it.
Peace

I was getting the brown spots (necrosis?) on my fan leaves too, starting at the bottom fans and working up. Extra nitrogen did the trick for me. She was hungry!
