just came across a Self ballast metal halide bulb 250 w,why has no one posted about these bulbs?
and only £15 each. point being no ballast needed saving £80 alone all u need is reflector and e40 lead
thinking of getting some for vegging. opinions please. is there a catch? will give link when i had some replies lol
but got be a steal at that price.
THIS LAMP REQUIRES NO CONTROL GEAR TO OPERATE AS THE BALLAST, IGNITOR AND CAPACITOR ARE BUILT IN TO THE LAMP. TO USE SIMPLY SCREW IN TO AN E40 LAMP HOLDER, CONNECT TO AN AC 220-240V SUPPLY AND THE LAMP WILL GIVE OFF 250W OF HIGH POWER METAL HALIDE H.I.D LIGHTING.$T2eC16NHJFoE9nh6nPzEBQn4MD48G!~~60_57.jpg

The self ballast heats up really fast....also doesnt last long...when growing your best safest bet is to use a ballast

well if they start fast thats a good thing aint it? and for £15 only if they only last 6mths .saving the price of a ballast at 70 to £80.thats like 6 of the bulbs for same price

I'd have to agree with these dudes and say if you want to grab one and give it a go then who are we to say otherwise. I mean we are just hear for advice we can't make up your mind, but just IMO if you like throwing away money buy you a few of those bulbs and try them out.

Or you can simply just buy the ballast, bulb, hood everything fairly cheap on ebay as well. But hey it's your money and choice.

Best of luck :)

this looks like it is worth the money, I know you can run a 70 watt hps by just putting it into a standered light socket. Some one should buy one of these 250 w bulbs and tell me if it works.
