Now I know many of you who are setting up you're first grow have been told to never (EVER!) to use incandescent or halogen lights. If you're like me you are probably on a tight budget, eyeballing those insanely low prices and wondering how much of this advise is practical versus a purist society shunning all but the very best.
Well I went the wrong way (but I'm back again), and thought I'd share a picture to try and illustrate the exact difference.
This plant is 8 inches tall.
The bottom 7 inches were grown a 150 watt halogen "agro-lite" and took 5 weeks to achieve.
The uppermost inch was grown under 4 26 watt CFLs and took less then 2 days to achieve.
