a couple ?'s about trichs

ok, i got a few questions about trichs. first of all, is it true some plants dont really get amber trichs until way too late or not at all?
my buddy was saying that not all the plants will mature the same which makes sense. its like a broken record on this site though when you ask about trichs, "radio shack scope and wait till you see alot of amber trichs".

well i have a scope and i've read all the trich threads but im still confused. my buds are starting to build alot recently and about 95% or more of the trichs are cloudy anywhere i look, but absolutly NO amber anywhere. there are some stalks with no balls on top, some cloudy trichs with no stalks but no amber.
my main question is should i just wait for ambers to start to form or is there a possibility that they wont and just wait for 100% cloudy?
i'd say at best 50% of the trichs have stalks, will the cloudy trichs with no stalks grow stalks?

i think im gonna start flushing tomorow, alot of the leaves have turned yellow on the top half of the plant and are working their way down.

any actual help would be awesome, thanks.

Myself I harvest when the trichome color is milky white because I much prefer there to be as much of a head high as possible and as little of a couch-lock stone as possible so I do not want amber trichomes but I have never know of plants/strains that will not eventually turn amber and they cannot turn amber "too late" because "too late" is only when THC has begun to degrade past a certain point and that happens when the trichomes begin to turn from amber to brown. Once the color begins to change from milky white to amber the degradation process has begun but since it is minor and it gives some people what they prefer, more couch-lock, it is not considered to be a loss and instead seen as just another phase.

Not all stalks have resin heads because not all trichomes are glandular and at times a resin-ball can be knocked off of the stalk so that is not at all unusual. I cannot say that I have ever seen a resin-ball without a stalk because the resin is secreted from glands below the base of the stalk so I think what you are most likely seeing is resin-balls that have very tiny/short stalks that you cannot see.

they say the more amber the more heavy hitting indica style...a lot of people i know that grow DANK DANK harvest when they are about 70% milky and like 25% amber, for a more sativa high...if they are mostly all milky then go ahead, wont hurt anything...if you are going to be growing the same strain again then its a learning exp..

thank you very much, i thought i was gonna get a bunch of "dummy" responses but this helps alot. im sure i just cant see the little stalks under those short trichs. so should i just wait till i see any signs of amber and chop her down? i do want a more uplifting high so the less amber the better. thanks again
