8th Week, Blue Widow and AK-48

I have 1 Blue Widow (Dinafem freebie) and 1 AK-48 (Nirvana) about half way through their 8th week. Started flushing this week, even though all trichs still look clear through my 30x Loupe. Just posting a couple pics for eye candy, but any input that can be gathered about how much longer to go would be appreciated. I can try and get some better shots in the next couple of days.

Edit : It mixed up my pics in the order I uploaded. The first and last are the BW, and the middle 2 are the AK-48.

Try cutting of a small sample, then study the trhics outside your growroom on a white piece of paper.
It can be hard to study trichomes under HPS light, the thricomes are reflecting/refracting HPS-light (and your environment).

Dude, arsenal it's funny you ask, because I was just posting in another thread how amazing the BW smells. I can't even explain...like a blueberry/pineapple punch. You'll enjoy it for sure. What's funny is this seed was a freebie, yet I'm thinking it's gonna be some of the best smoke ever.

Right on man, that sounds awesome. This is definitely a sticky plant in veg hah... Mine was a freebee too and she's one of the most vigorous plants I have going atm. I'm pretty stocked to see how the smoke turns out. How was the stretch on her? I read some description that the average stretch is about 3x.

I'm not sure if it was just the pheno I got, but she only stretched about 2x...at most. She's stayed pretty stocky the whole time. I topped at about 12 inches, I dunno if you top your plants or not, or if that would even matter. The AK stretched quite a bit though.

Depending on how this BW smokes, I might just have to order some more and get a mother going. I've heard some really successful stories about scrogs with this strain...and after seeing her growth pattern, I can see why. Also, like you said, this strain's vigor is amazing...at least the pheno I got out of it.

Edit : Nice, I actually just checked out your grow after noticing the link in your sig. I mentioned Scrog for the BW (which I've still never done yet), and here you are with a nice ass lookin Scrog setup lol. So is this how you're planning to flower the BW? I def. subscribed to see what kind of results you get.

Yeah man, I stuck the BW under the scrog, definitely agree that her growth pattern is ideal for a scrog. I also took a few clones from her and will be keeping one around for a while, and I might just flower the rest in party cups. I also think this strain is pretty stable because I've talked to a few people about it and each had similar growth.

I've been hearing a lot of good things about scrog in general...I think I'm gonna start a new project and try to build one for the next grow as soon as this batch gets cut.

I harvested a Nirvana AK48 great high yielder, I did not care for its taste, though through a vaporizer it was nice I cured for over a month and ended up letting some go to a friend and using 1/4 of it for hash

To be honest, I didn't care much for that bud I just smoked, but it wasn't even cured. Had the expected chlorophyll taste to it. I got super ripped though. Some of the AK Buds smell almost like piss lol. Is that normal? I have a dog, but he's locked out of the room 24/7 so I know that's not possible. Maybe it's just a strong skunky odor, that I resemble as piss? lmao, can you tell I'm stoned this morning?

So I was just checking out a few small clippings under the Loupe, and still see a few spider mites crawling around. I noticed I had some a couple weeks into flower and thought I took care of it, but I guess they're still around. Some people have recommended water curing to get rid of any that may be left on the bud after harvest, but I really really don't want to try water curing for some reason. Suggestions? The leaves look better on the plants, there's no sign of another infestation YET. Only having a week or so left, I really don't want to spray these babies with anything...and I obviously can't feed Azamax. I'm thinking since it's about 10 degrees outside, just throw my buds out there for a couple hours after I harvest...would that kill them or get most of them off?
