8th day 12/12 no preflowers

Hey all, first time grower and have just started 12/12 8th day in actually and no signs of sex at all. No lights getting in during the dark period and I obviously started without preflowers and the plant has 8 nodes but only small second branches, I'm putting that down to lighting though as I'm only using a few CFLs. I'll try and get a photo up but it's damn hard on a phone.

Is it the slower it shows the higher chance it will be female?? I had two plants that died on me and this is bag seeds so I've got my fingers crossed :(

ive heard of people dropping to 10/14 11/13 to kick start flowering then switching to 12/12 when they start seeing preflowers

There was a day where I was too hungover to get out of bed to turn the lights on so it had one days worth of 24/0. I'll try the 10/14 though but I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later though I'll just be patient for a few more days

you need to get a timer to do the 12/12 cycle for you. it is essential. relying on yourself to regulate the light schedule will only end in wasted time. trust me. they're only $5 for the mechanical outlet timers at lowes

Yea most def get a timer. Mainly for what happened above. You don't want your hard work being disturbed because lights weren't on a schedule. Just throws the plants off their schedule and bad results can happen. Easy fix though!

Only problem for me is I'm not in the states I'll have to get one ordered from a hydro shop. Been meaning to for a whole but I'm focusing in getting a UFO led plant lIght with a built in timer
