600watt room setup. Some Advice Please

I am setting up a 600watt HPS with a 6 light rail. Any advice on how big i can make my room? I know the rule of thumb is 50 watts per sqare feet. Can i add extra square feet with the light rail? Also, if im setting up with 5 gallon buckets in a top water feeding system, how many plants i grow?

YOu can probably do 5-6 plants with a good 600W. I use a 1000W and stop at 6 plants.

I just did 2 rows of six plants under a 600 on a rail. started flowering at 14 inches and got a little over an oz a plant.
If you go with more plants then cut your veg time down to keep them short.
On the other hand 4 plants in 5 gallon buckets that you veg into a screen for 6 or 8 weeks then flower would probably yield more.
So its not about the amount of plants, its the amount of veg time you give them.

actually it's 5000lumens/sq.ft the 600 could probably cover more than 12 sq.ft, check lumen output for your lamp.
