Fellow growers, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts, I welcome you to my journal. For certain reasons I must say that all things written and 'photographed' in this thread are indeed figments of my mind, computer animated, and are not in any way real or a threat to anyone.
THAT SAID, pull up a chair, light one up and watch the science experiment unfold
(Copied - and edited - from my journal entry on June 26, 2010)
This grow will be the first one with the new setup: I'm running it with two 300 Watt LED's - One 300 Watt LED is comparable in output to 900-1000W HPS, so in other words I have about 1800-2000 Watts of usable light for the 'price' of only 600. Under the lights I've got a twelve bucket system with a 32 gallon reservoir, and I've been switching back and forth between General Hydroponics nutrients and Technaflora's BC nutes.
I got a hold of twelve clones two weeks ago, Bubble Gum(x3), Purple Hawaiian(x3), Granddaddy Purple(x2), Morning Daze(x2), and Chocolope(x2). They're doing well, a little yellowing of the old leaves from the shift in environment and such...
I'm also using Sure to Grow inserts, which have been working well, but there is obvious nutrient buildup/algae at the tops because my water would submerge the medium and cover the top. I talked with the dude who owns the company and he said the STG inserts should be kept secured at the top of the buckets and not compressed down which is why there is nutrient buildup and stuff there. Look at the pics, you'll see what I mean. I'm not trippin about it, my girls are looking wonderful and loving their new home - but any info anyone may have about it would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading!
