6 weeks into flower can I "sample" my plant?

I have one plant that has been flowering for 6 weeks. I vegged it for another 6. It actually looks like a wimpy plant though, it has flowers, but they aren't thick buds yet at all. All though theres lots of little tiny flowers all over the plant. Each flower has around 10-15 hairs, and the hairs started turning red/brown like 1-2 weeks ago.
I'm curious if I can get any idea how strong the plant is and wanted to cut off a flower or 2, (just a tiny amount) dry it, and see if it gets me high. The flowers are about 90% white and 10% red. Is there any THC in those flowers yet?

Its my first plant and I'm just dying to know how "healthy" it is. =]
