500w blackstar led

I am wondering if anyone knows how many watts are actually used by this model. Just started using it and have no way to measure it. i heard they only use about half of the 500. thank you

I think just over 300 or so. I used to own 6 of them but the remaining one I have only runs at half that due to something malfunctioned , personal experience with bs500 is the failure rate is very high and the light just isn't all that even when it's 100 percent functional.

The light has 168 3 watt leds. They consume an average of ~3v each. 3v x 168 = 504 That's how they get the 500. The leds are typically driven a 550ma. 550ma x 504 = 277 watts consumed by the leds. Add in the fans and it will be a little over 280 watts. If they are driven at say 600ma the total draw would be a bit over 300 watts.
