5 weeks old and still under 6"

Having been growing in closet for 5 weeks now and plants are still under 6inches tall. photos attached, I am using Growth Technology Ionic Grow with Root Excelurator and Hydrogen Peroxide. My setup does not have any pumps or bubblers and is a still water reservoir in a PVC pipe. I bought the system from nakedhydroponics and have generally been following their instructions except I have also been controlling the PH, using a root enhancer and peroxide which they say are generally not necessary.

I have al-foil on all the walls and doors of the closet and around the pvc tube using a 450w LED grow light off ebay with grow and bloom switch, it is supposed to be full spectrum with IR but never really know with ebay products. I have to adjust the PH daily and think I had an algae problem before I started adding the peroxide, the PH generally climes back up to about ph7 every day unless it is adjusted. Temperature at the moment is usually between 23C-28C.

Was wondering if I had the light too close/too much light that may be causing them to grow so short. One of the plants went straight from single blade to 5 blade to 7 blade.

Any advice or recommendations greatly appreciated. Photos below.

I agree with the last post, you need to take pics with a normal light as it is very hard to see anything

take photos in normal light. can't really see anything with the purple glow.

Thanks, will take some shortly and get them up, I will take a picture of the roots as well. I might stop using the Root Excel for now as the H202 is helping with oxygen levels and got rid of the algae.

I've noticed that with hydro lots of people get root rot but with soil if you get it you can't tell because the roots will be dark anyway because of the soil/compost :D

roots shown are from two different plants (2pics of each), the two bigger plants were germinated a week earlier than the others. I am also aware that I will not be able to keep all 7 plants in the current setup whilst flowering as their will not be enough room.

not with cool water and light sealed compartments/res. ;)

I have tried to ensure that the reservoir is exposed to little or no light. Although I do drain the reservoir into an ice cream container at least once a day to better measure and adjust PH and PPM as required. It wouldn't have more than 15min of light exposure on any given day. The water fills the pipe to about 1/2 way so the roots are half in and out of the water.

throw some cal/mag at em, but other than that, i'd say you're on track. looking pretty good.

thanks for that was reading that I should probably be using cal/mag with the LED light. Any thoughts on whether I would have quicker growth with NFT by getting a pump and external reservoir for my tube?

absolutely. water gardening is all about DO, the more the better.

this would also allow you to have an external res, easier to chill, monitor, and adjust.
