ganjaboi,
i had a plant go to root rot/snot 3 wks into veg from seed. I killed all the existing roots cleaned the rez and got temps down to 67*, Just like a clone it took a few days to reestablish growth rate but the photosynthetic material was not wasted and a nice root ball grew back.
It was my first grow and I had been adding molasses with good results for over a week, and then i got a nasty case of moldy smelly stuff on tha roots. This time the root system was strong enough to combat it once the rez was changed (AND THE SUGARS ELIMINATED DUR)
So i had two episodes of root prob and it only slowed the growth temp. Never give up on any plant I say...kill all roots as long as you're still in veg it's the equivalent of waiting for a clone.

well i changed the rez, i took the plant into the shower and put the shower on lightly and washed the roots while gently massaging them, about 90% of the remaining roots washed away leaving me with just a few roots
hopefully i get some new healthy root growth and the root rot doesnt come back

also i was wondering if someone was thinking of having several dwc units set up couldnt you set them up like ebb and flow buckets with a supply and overflow hose going to each bucket, except you would have a one way flow valve so the bucket would always be full to the over flow level, then you could set a timer to turn the pump on to push water from a rez the would be cooled be a profesional water cooler or eaven ice cubes into the buckets bringing in fresh cool water and the warm water from the bucket would over flow back onto the rez where it would be cooled down again, you could also add nutes and corect the ph this way but you would have to do all of that gradually. i think it would make it easier to control water temps and for large scale grows i think it would work well for ph and nute monitoring as long as it was checked and corrected daily
