4x4x7 grow tent

A few years ago I got a 4x4x7 grow tent so that I could start my garden earlier in the year(where I live you still get frost in the night right up until mid june). With the legalization of weed I’ve started using more, and now With being trapped in the house and WFH I’ve decided to put the tent to good use.
With the vegetables I was growing a few years ago all I used was a 180w led grow light I got off amazon and no exhaust at all. Over the last day I’ve done some research and it seems like with growing cannabis I’m gonna need a much bigger light and an exhaust system for the tent.

things I’m wondering now is for a 4x4 tent is a 4” exhaust and filter good enough or would I need a 6”? Also when it comes to grow lights I wanna stick with led, I’m looking at Mars Hydro TSW-2000 Full Spectrum LED Grow Bar. I’m wondering if that’s big enough for the 4x4 tent, if not, what lights would you recommend in the same price range?($400 cad)

Hard to say if the 4" is enough, depends on environment and fan performance . Sounds like your in a cooler climate.

The tsw 2000 is supposed to cover 3x3, I think they are been a bit generous with that , so if your happy not filling your 4x4 you can get that light. Or the ts 3000 is 450w , give you more area to grow in, again though I still think that weak for the whole 4x4.

I use QBs and used to run 2x 260w kits which actual pull about 285w each, but they use Samsung diodes which are considerably more efficient so I would want at least that wattage for your space, not less than!

I would concentrate on your lighting first and see where that puts you with your air temps before getting the 6" fan and filter.
You want to be warm anyway, like 85f.

I wouldn't dismiss other lighting options if you live in a cold climate, the heat from HPS and CMH is valuable when its winter. It kind of defeats the purpose to go LED if you have to pay more to heat the space.

Get a 6" and you won't regret it. The price difference isn't all that much, and you'll be happier in the long run. IF you get the Cloudline T6, it has a built-in heat controller and it'll keep the tent wherever you set it.

Also: Get the TSW3000. It'll flower a 4X4 quite well. (I think it's rated to veg a 5X5, and flower a 4X4) I have 2 TSW2000s in my 4X8 (link in my sig) and they work fine for the veg/seed side, but on my flower side I have a TSW3000 and it really rocks. Covers a 4X4 area quite well. It's about $50-$100 more, but you'll never need to replace it in that tent later.

And with the TSW3000 you're going to want the 6" fan. They kick off a lot more heat than the TSW2000. My temps were at 80-85 when I was running 3 TSW2000s, but as soon as I switched one out for the 3000, the temps in my tent jumped almost 10-deg.

Would I be better off getting 2x 2000 or one of the 3000? Based on prices I am seeing them listed for its about $100 more for 2 of the 2000 model. Run one in veg, run 2 in flower?

The spread on the TSW3000 is 5' in veg, and 4' in flower...according to their site. If you're going to have plants all the way to the walls, then just get the 3000 and be done with it. Much simpler...and $100 less expensive. I'm not sure two 2000s will offer you much more than one 3000 will. If anything, you'll be turning them down as it may burn the plants out. So you wouldn't get any benefit from the 2 2000s.

A 4X4 with a Cloudline T6 and a TSW3000 would be a really nice setup that would serve you very well. You'll have all the light you could need, plenty of ventilation, and a heat control unit. Absolutely great starting point.
