Long time lurker, first time poster

Im going to go with a 4x4x6.5 foot grow tent and and a 1000w hps. I am thinking of growing 6 plants in there

I have a couple of questions about exhaust. I am going to be growing inside a storage shed in my backyard. The shed has a pretty large sized tree near it which gives it decent shade.

I am wondering what kind and how many fans should I get to cool that light and keep the room at a good temperature.

Also do I need odor control during veg?

3 fans 1 intake 1 exhaust (inline is best but regular will work fine) 1 ocilating. ODOR CONTROL ALWAYS!!! remember what your doing is a big deal 2 others.

270-400cfm inline fan, those tents can get pretty hot with a 1000 watt light,at the begining of veg no but 1 month in you will start to smell little something.

growing in a shed is going to be hard as far as heat goes, you can run lights at night, but that has it own probs outside..if you can have a ex fan just for the light, sucking air from outside into your hood(cooling the light) then hot air back outside, then use aother fan up high in the shed sucking hot air out, at the same time it will be pulling cooler air from outside via a small hole down low in the shed....i whould make sure you use a scubber just to make sure no one smells anything after all you are outside,i whould grow inside a house if you can....thats my 2 cents on this Q....MEANGREEN.

do you mean light getting out? I wanted to make it light proof

also the reflector I posted only has one vent in it..the air gets pushed in or sucked out through that?

yeah you whould have to make it light proof forsure, that hood should have vents (holes) on two sides, cut a hole on two sides of the shed, use ducting from one hole to the hood then ducting from the hood out to the other hole leading outside.. ya dig?..you dont want any of that heat in ur room..

the she is going to be on a raised platform can I vent though the floor?

Im kind of hesitant to cut through a metal shed

this she is gonna be new and its also going to be used to store stuff, so I could make a wooden one, but im only going to use it for my first grow

you can but remeber that heat rises, make sure you get a high cfm fan too

250cfm should be fine, but I'd steer clear of axial fans, get a centrifugal, or squirrel cage fan, they can pull and push air through ducting much more effectively.

i run a jardin dr 120 in a shed.
I had to put in a portable ac unit. That helps exaust some heat.
I also have a inline vent fan out the top (heat rises). Those are my 2 ezausts.

I have a passive intake to put in fresh air from the window teh hot ait and heat is not put out of.

I only runa 400 watt hps and without the ac unit would get to 110 degrees easy. My 400 watt is not cooltubed. I also have 4 6 inch fans moving air around the inside.
