4x4 GG tent cooler with extensions??

I have the 4x4 Gorilla Grow with an extension to bring tent to 7’-10” at top of ceiling in bedroom.

I don’t need all that vertical space but it is comfortable. I’m growing autos and loving it. I would give up some space up there for more efficiency in cooling. 6in fan with carbon filter out of tent vented back into same room.

Has anyone experimented with this. Removing the said extension and running standard height on Gorilla Grow?

Thanks. Stay Safe

A 6" fan can exchange that air space in under a minute with the top on or not.

I'd much rather have the extra headroom available whether I end up needing it or not.

I have the 4x8 @ regular height. Cools the same as any other. Cant really say the difference with the extension though. Cant use it due to basement height.

Just taking a stab @ it, but by removing the extension your fan now has to move out 16 cubic feet of air less than it did before.
Not only that, but it's the hottest air in the tent thanks to being up top.
So, science would dictate that you should definitely see a drop in temps so long as your room is cooler than the tent due to increased air exchange alone.

Hope it works out for ya.

If its about temps it would be the same.

Taking a basic example , 2cubic feet will heat up half the rate as one cubic foot but the exchanges per minute would be half the rate in the 2 cubic foot space as the 1, so it equals the same thing.

If you want your fan to do a better job of cooling the space then don't vent it back into the same room.

Extra height drastically increases volume, and therefore, the amount of air inside that your lights/zeta have to heat up before it’s hot.
It’s easier to make a 1x1x1 box hot than it is a 10x10x10. It can mean the difference between being able to run just fans vs ac.
