4x2 Gorilla Shorty Tent Light Choice and Heat Questions

Howdy everyone!

So I am setting up a new 4x2 tent (70" tall) and here is what I have on hand. A Viparspectra XS2000 and an XS4000. Active 4" intake. Carbon filtered 4" outtake (AC infinity cloudline).

Right now I have the XS4000 in the tent; I like it's light dispersion at the far ends of the light better than the XS2000. I will only be growing 2 medium size plants in this tent and they will be situated at towards the sides of the tent / the edge of the lights.

The issue is the tent is running hot. An a room with an ambient temp of 74 degrees the tent is staying around 85 degrees with everything running full out.

This tent will only be used for autos and will be used seedling to chop.

So, I can:

- Swap in the XS2000 - Sufficient light coverage?
- Dim the XS4000?
- Upgrade to 6" vent system? The intake seems a little sluggish at 4" but the filtered outtake seems to be pulling quite a bit of air.

What would you do?

PS: I prefer to keep the lights I have as I got a good deal on them and have have good luck with them in other configurations....

THANKS!

Just dim the light to get down a couple degrees.. My canopy runs 80-84. No problems..

It might be fine, you have to check the temps in your tent for yourself, but I have a 4" cloudline and it's pretty weak. Honestly I think it's barely enough for my 2x2 mommy tent. I can't speak for your situation though, it might be just fine. The 6" moves vastly more air though, like it's not even comparable. You're talking about the 4" that's like $22 or something right?

Exactly. I now have the 6" intake fan and we will see how it does! Are you talking about the intake or the outflow / filtered part of things?

For now I have reverted to the XS2000 in the tent. Honestly it fits better and I imagine its going to work out just fine.

Thanks for everyone's replies!
