4th grow-Bubba Kush,Shiva Skunk

Here I am in my fourth round of attempts at horticulture.
My new specimens are 12 Bubba Kush (BubbleGum x Master Kush) from Oakland (White pots)
6 Shiva Skunk (Northern Lights x Skunk) from Sacramento. (Black pots)
I have done away with my 4 1000w in exchange for an eventual 6, 600w.
For starters I have a dual 600w Lumatek digital ballast with 2 air cooled hoods.
My trays are 2-8x4ft. My nutrients are FoxFarm Organic.
My air Intake is via a 8" duct I branched off my CH/AC.
My lights are all air cooled via 1, 8" Vortex fan placed inside an 16" duct
and branched into smaller 8 " ducts then 6" between the lights.
Wish me luck!

1 week into veg my girls are doing good.
My hoods are only 9" from my canopy right now and cool to the touch!
I have to say that so far the 600's have not disappointed.
I couldn't dream of putting my 1000w's this close even with an A/C
air cooling them. So far I have yet to even turn on my A/C and am only using it as a fan untill the summer heat comes.

My Shiva Skunk is showing some chlorosis from what I have discerned
as a high Ph issue(7.0). So, my last two waterings have been with a lower
Ph(6.5-6.1) to hopefully rectify the problem. The Bubba Kush also had high Ph issues.
But it was slighter and coupled with twisting leaves (an apparent mag. def.) from the lockout.

:???:I want to top them, but should I wait till they improve?:???:

I like your set-up, Sure Shot! You have some cool strains you've been running as well. I am with you on the 600's! I still run 1 1000 and a couple of 6's, but I am going to get two more to change out the 1000......I think unless your growing them tall your a lot better off with the 600's when you consider heat and all.....

I am not sure if it's good to top them in their condition or not......myself, I 'd do it and let it ride out the shock so they hopefully are through it by the time you go to 12/12......is that FFOF soil you use too?<---FF is great stuff, just HOT all the way around.......easy with the Grow Big if your using it....and TB in flower is way hot too....The Big Bloom is the best all around nute, right from veg on, IMHO......

Great luck to you!

Thanxs, Growinman

Ya, I am still undecided as to how big I'm going with these girls.
Have you seen the 8ft. Jack Herer's grown under 600w lights?

Big Bloom is definitely the best nute and I use it every feeding.
I use FoxFarm soil and nutes, I sometimes use 1 1/2 the recommended
nutes with only slight signs of burn but I have a CO2 rich enviroment.

I think I might top them when the lights pop back on in a few minutes.
I wanted to get a cutting for outside. But I only have some old rooting gel
from months ago and I doubt it's any good.

Thank's for your POV

Yeah, I do have to say I'm jealous of M Blaze's grow.
In fact, I wish I could convince my partner to let me try and recreate it.
No doubt, one day I will cuz I always aspire to do more.

Long story short, without mentioning names.
A fight ensued in front of my home over a female.
My homie won the fight and the other guy + friends left.
He came back and rushed my house with 6 friends.
They threw a 25lb rock threw my front window!
Shots were fired and one of them went down!
They turned tail and ran taking the injured goon to the hospital.

Now, my growing partner/roommate is moving out and no longer wants to grow pot!

Myself, I will never stop procreating these flowers.
+ I get to keep from punching a fucking 9-5.
I'm just not very sheepish I guess.

Anyways, without a partner I am at a loss for funds.(I'M BROKE)
My PG&E bill is about $1,000 past due!!
I only have 2 of the 6 600w that I planned on getting!
I need to transplant!

What I really need is to get rid of the 1/2lb of Kush I have cured but I have no buyers!!

Fuck Plant stress,.... I have a severe case of Grower stress:cuss::wall:

*Update*
My girls are looking vibrant.
These first two pics are my Bubba Kush, second my Shiva Skunk.
I am very pleased with the results of my topping.
After reading Uncle Ben's topping technique and applying his science to my room.
I decided to top all of my girls above the fourth node.
The Bubba Kush's now look to give me 8 uniform colas.
Although the Shiva's look somewhat stunted they all appear to be doing well.

I'm going Perpetual

I have taken my 12x9 room and divided it into 1, 8x9 and 1, 4x9!
I will be vegging in the 4x9 and flowering in 8x9.
But the key to my grow is Baseball.
Although I not much of a fan the analogy works well.
What I intend to do is this.
I will keep my veg room (Batter's box) full of babies.
My flower table will work like the four bases of the diamond.
2 bases under each light.
Every two weeks I plan on moving the plants one base farther.
So the first two weeks of flower will be on the right side of the tray(1st Base) and the last 2 weeks on the left(Home stretch).
Every time I move the flowering girls I will take set of clones(On deck) from the batters box and keep the bases loaded.bongsmilie:eyesmoke::blsmoke:

This means I'll be able to harvest every two weeks!(RBI):hump::hump:
Also, this gives me an opportunity of trying a new strain every 2 weeks!(Scouts)

All I need to finish the veg room is a 400w bulb/hood, a partition zipper from the hydro store and a roll of Gorilla tape!(Salary Cap)

I can't get rid of this Kush:cry:
So I'm selling my 2000 Chrysler Sebring to pay the bills.
Not a big deal I have a couple other cars.

(I would like to thank Stinkbud for his perpetual system since it was an inspiration for mine.)

Your girls sure are looking great!

Hey, I hope you have a great weekend!!! (a quiet one--haha) What's the problem with the Kush?----I mean you cant get rid of it, or it's not up to par??

It's not up to par!
My plants suffered a dramatic burn in my last week of my last grow.
The result-
Good looking buds with little smell and low potency.
It takes a blunt to get high!!

I hear you!! I did dome Mazar x Afghan just at the first of this year that turned out to be no good at all<--great smell/taste, just not much buzz---like the o'doulz of bud. I still have over a lb of it. I am still waiting to hear from a vouple of others growing the same strain to see their results.....it may have just been me....but I cant even imagine that possibility---haha, dont I wish.
Well, the run your doing now looks real good, so lets hope for masses of quantity to get you running with smooth sailing here on out!!

Thanks.
Luckily some patients were in need of a QP of meds.
That's a little weight off my shoulders and my duffel bag!

Your plants look great too. You have the concept down as much as I can tell. I use bricks to boost plants that need it. I want to find a substitute because the bricks are hard to sterilize if there are pest problems. looks like you are working with clones so you won't have so many evening out problems as I do.

Oh yeah, it looked like you might have a slight zinc deficiency in a couple of pics. The leaves twisting to the side and curling is usually the first sign. Kelp foliar spay is the quickest organic way I know of. It could have been ur pH too...to baked to backtrack now.

It's the fucking other shit in the thread that makes me glad I live in a cabin in the woods :eyesmoke:
