4kv vs 5kv mogul socket.

hi, just had a quick question I have 2 of these sockets one being 4kv and the other is 5kv. the 5kv says its for hps and the 4kv doesnt say anything. can both of these be used for MH or HPS. what if any is the actual difference? thanks.

bump. I know its probably a stupid question, but someone has got to know this.

Four thousand volts and 5 thousand volts. What size are your lamps?

1000mh and 1000hps.

Probably not going to matter. The 1KV difference is small. That starting spike is short lived.

And I'll bet dollars to donuts that the lamp cord (one going to the socket) isn't rated for more then 600V (aka .6KV)

But I'd go for the 5KV socket.
