4inch on an 8 inch for drying

My 8 inch filter and fan suck to fuck .
Dont have a 4inch filter i know you cant go smaller filter for smella but heard u can go bigger filter for better results...

I have a 4inch fan too... and a diy 4 to 8 inch duct.
Can i use the 4inch fan on the 8inch filter in my 4x8 for drying ?

Depends on presure which is that small fan able to produce…

I am not completely sure about properties of the fan and filter, but you can use whatever you want if it is able to suck or blow air through. Weak fans are not able move as much air through thicker layer of the carbon which are being dimensioned for larger fans, but still can be used. If the smell is still being there even the air was filtered by carbon, than I would suspect the carbon or you are sucking more air through than the filter is able to clean. You your case most likely not since you use small fan on big filter…
