400w son t

Im planning on buying a philips son-t 400w agro is it a good bulb for veg and flowering?

It's a good bulb, HPS isn't ideal for veg, but is perfect for flowering. It will work ok for veg, but be careful not to put the light too far away or the plants will stretch toward it rather than growing dense and bushy like you want them to.
Just put the back of your hand under the lamp and move it until it's warm, but not uncomfortable. That's the distance it should be away from the plants

i have a 400 watt magnetic ballast ... u know if it's koo to use that 430 watt HPS with my ballast?

Or go for a Grolux 400w they got extra blue in the spectrum so you can use it from start to finish.
