400w mh and hps

just got my grow lights in the mail and the whole setup is way bigger than i thought it would be.do any of you know how running these lights will this affect my power bill?is it going to sky rocket?

Depending on your kwh rate.....mine only costs me 68 cents a day running it for 18 hours, at.0909 per kwh. Long story short not a bunch of money!

hope not.i have read where some folks say it cost them around 50 or 60 to run theirs.i wish i would have gone with the 250 considering my modest closet grow .im only growing 3 at the moment but oh well.im sure they are gonna love that 450!thanks for your input!

for me its about $28 a month to run 400w MH at 18hrs. then I run a 400w MH and 400w HPS at 12hrs which costs me about $34. It's funny the heater in my room uses 3x the amount of watts than my lights. Same as your toaster and computer etc.. 400w isn't much.

My 400w is about $25. Three plants would be max for me......2 is the norm. Top & LST in the beginning & by the end you'll fill your space with less issues. Six wks. in veg., from seed, & 8 - 10 til they ripen & wah lah peanut butter sandwiches!
