400w cool tube reflector, opinions?

just bought a new light kit. ballast hood bulb

i ordered the cool tube design. any one use this product?
how much cooler was your grow vs the avarage bat wing?
and if you have are you satisfied? just wondering making sure i bought
something good.

I run 400 HPS w/ a cooled hood, as long as your fan can push enough of a volume of air through your ducting and hood you should be fine....I couldnt run mine wthout the hood, temps get hot fast.

i use a 600w cool tube with no air circulating thru it and my enclosed closet stays about 10 degrees above room temp so between 79-81 only have fan on outside...Cool tubes r the best..IMHO

I figured. Only on one plant for maximum potental in a single plant. Plus the outdoor season is in full swing so yield won't be effected. Idk. I might do another bucket or clone a bunch and though em straight to flower.

I use this http://canadianwholesalehydroponics.com/products.cfm?p_id=2092&show_details=1&catpage=3 It's kinda like a cool tube and works great you just need a good inlne fan to help vent the hot air, I currently use a 440cfm inline on a dimmer and my temps went from 90f with a bat-wing style reflector (400w) to 70-75f with this style so umm yea HUGE difference.

Yeah i got a couple of 400w cooltubes and they aint bad, light spread is a bit shite but in a small cab that dont matter they do what i wanted them to do and thats run cool. Wanted to use my other air cooled hoods but they didnt fit in my cabs so ended up with cooltubes and all in all i like them.

Did I read that right?

You have no air going through your cooltube? Please tell me this is not what you meant.

why does it matter?, execpt for stale hot air. and as long as you have constant airflow your fine.
i was using an orignal sunlite hood, with no fan or ducking. just a wall fan to keep things moving.
was running mid 80s, but that sure was dank ass lavender,
until i got a reg bat wing, my temp went to high 70s low 80s, (were i want it) and that was a gods gift grow, which flowered
ginormious, and lower buds were solid purp and tops shaded over easy. again, only wall fan

So im re attempting the gods gift, only diffrence is this is a clone from my last grow,
my outdoor grow consists of mutiple strains, prolly 15+ strains.
so this cool tube should range me in mid 70s. at leaste i want that.
i dont have it yet, it just got shipped outta arizona this morning at 3am
so hoping for arrival tomarrow. start flowering asap. shes already at hight i wanted to start at.
plus a few clones ima throw in there for some samples of the outdoor grow but indoor. lol
