400 Watt MH EYE light w/ Lumatek 600 watt ballast

Hey someone key me in.

I have a 600 watt lumatek ballast (dimmable version) that can run either hps or mh. To my knowlege i do not over any 600 watt mH lights. Is it safe to run a 400 watt mH bulb on the ballast?

Bad idea...even with a dimmable ballast I doubt the bulb would last very long. Might even cause the bulb to fail violently....not good.

So in that case, where do I find (online) 600 watt mh bulbs? All I see are conversion bulbs...

umm dont think there is such thing as a 600w mh bulb....

So is it safe to say plantlightinghydroponics.com is falsely advertising when they say that the lumatek can ignite 600 Watt mh bulbs if no such bulb exists???

Not really...they're prolly talkin about a conversion bulb. Why not go with one?

The ballast will ignite both types of bulbs, so if you can only get a conversion 600w MH it will still work
