400 hps or a 600 hps cooltube in a homebox s for flower?

Alright i got another homebox and i like the results it can give me with a 400 watt.But i was thinking can i fit a 600 watt hps in for flower instead of the 400 do you think that would work?It will be cooltubed and with a 6inch fan for exhausting the light and a strong 4 inch for exhausting the room.Any suggestions? does anybody run a 600 in a 3x3x5.5 space with good results or should i just stick with the 400?

I am in the exact same situation right now. I have a 3'x6'x8' closet and I'm thinking about dividing it up into two rooms, giving me a 3x3 room for flower and veg. I'm leaning towards getting a 600 watt hps light for the flower room, and a flouro in the veg room. The only thing is that with a 600 watt you have to be able to vent the light.

yeah go with the 600, im running 2 600's in a dr 150 tent which is almost 5x5 with air cooled hoods, i cool them with a 100 cfm 4 inch fan for the hoods and then i have a 150 cfm with a carbon filter just for exhaust for the tent, the fan i have hooked to the lights also has a filter on it and pulls air from inside the tent and it works good, but yeah a 600 will give you about 80% more light than the 400, the only reason and i mean only to go with a smaller light than the 600 is if heat or space is of concern...which it is not in your situation, you have the cool tube for the heat and the tent is plenty high so go with the 600 and you wont be sorry

If you can control the heat then i say do it! The more light, the better, especially in flower! if your going to buy a new bulb for flower then you might as well make it a red spec n'all!

If you have several fans 600 would be very rewarding, although 400 is plenty.

My grow tent is 3x3x6 and I decided on the 400 watt with the hortilux bulb and lumateks digital ballast. Both the bulb and ballast I'm using increases the lumen output without having the added heat or using anymore electricity.

Well i got a 250 mh and 600 digital ballast.Im gonna have to do some reconstructing now because i want to use the 250 to veg and keep mothers while i use the 600 hps to flower.i want at least 4-5 oz every month so i figured this should be more than enough
