Hi all. Looking for a bit of advice on this filter/fan setup.
This is my first grow and im nearing the end of flowering and have been getting some smell issues. This i think has been down to the filter im using, a 4 inch CAN filter 1500.
I did not know this at the time but the filter is only suited for airflows up to 75m3. Now, i have a hvk 100a @ 175m3! So, my filter is nowhere near suitable for this fan i have.
Im goin to head out tomorrow and buy a 4 inch rhino rated @ 350m3 i think.
This cfm/m3 ph/neg pressure stuff is all new to me but iv learned the hard way that carbon filters can be 'underpowerd' {not suitable for certain fans etc}, but can they be too 'overpowerfull' for fans?
Basically, is there any problems i may run into using a 350m3 filter with a 175m3 fan ?
Iv have been told that a rhino @ 350m3 will work great with my 175m3 and i should be looking at ZERO smell leaks,{ive sealed up my ducting between my fan/filter to rule out that sort of smell leak, and i have all my tent flaps closed for neg pressure and i only have one of the 4inch ports open to allow some fresh air in.
So i just wanna get a few opinions to back up that this combo of fan/filter would work well before i go out and spend even more money on a 3rd filter for my first grow. I actually think the budget filter i got with my kit at the start is better than this CAN one i bought.
Id better add that im growing in a dr60 in a cupboard and venting through the wall into my bedroom. Using a 250 son T. Im not getting a huge amount of fresh air in but think its doin not too bad and about to harvest my first plant.
Thanks for reading....So should i go get this rhino? Heard so many ppl ranting & raving about them.
