4 plant grow help

Hey everyone, another new guy here asking the usual newbie questions about lighting and such. I am in Canada and trying to prepare to grow when it becomes legal here in October. I want to be able to get the most out of my 4 plant limit. I really want to be able to get over 1lb on my first grow, though I know that might be asking a lot.

My plan so far is:
5x5 1680D fusion hut grow tent from growlights.ca
early veg under t5
1000w air cooled hps
Soil grow in 5 gallon pots
GH Flora series performance pack for nutes
air pump for water/nutes
6inch 440CFM fan with carbon filter
dehumidifier

The hardest choices for me right now is lighting and soil. I am thinking of going with FFOF or Happy Frog for soil, any other affordable recommendations would be appreciated. I might grow in coco later, I would love to do hydro but I travel with work to often and feel soil would be easier for my wife to handle for a bit if needed.

For light I am leaning towards a 1000w hps from Ipower, it seems to be well reviewed for a budget HPS kit but I am also considering the air cooled 1000w DE HPS on growlights.ca ( I am to new to post a link) but I can't find any reviews on Fusion Bright lights and that concerns me.
Thoughts?

I can't find anyone who has used Fusion Bright grow lights and that concerns me. I am sure in time I will upgrade either to a better brand or a good LED set up, but I want to build some experience before I throw too much money at this.

Temperature will probably be my greatest struggle, I will be growing in the basement and until the heated flooring is finished, it will be quite cool down there. I think my best bet is to try and keep the lights on temp lower so that it isn't as drastic of a drop when the lights go out.

Any other tips for a new grower would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance :)

In Alaska here. Forget any air pump unless you're setting up hydro. Consider Pro Mix. Canadian made. I use it instead of expensive FF soils. Otherwise your head is straight. iPower lights are fine. Replace the bulb with a quality bulb before flower.

I will look into the pro mix. Just curious why you say to not bother with the air pump. A few growers I follow on YouTube seem to swear by having it in your water and mixed nutes. It is a pretty inexpensive addition.

EDIT: Which promix would you recommend?

Pro Mix BX . It needs nothing. In hydro we're moving to waterfalls and away from pumps. Use simple wooden bbq skewers to pierce through the roots occasionally to aerate.
