I got 2 rubbermaid 36 gal. containers.First i'll post my setup then questions.

Gear:
2 Rubbermaid 26 gal. Con.
2-4 42W CFLs or 6 26w CFLS
2-6 light sockets
2 extension cords
Aluminum foil(enough to cover top and bottom)
Home made or Wal-Mart Reflector
Tie chains for Reflector
2 4" fans

Questions:
1.)Someone who has done this or have knowledge:What would be the recomended CFLS for this deisgn? Will 2 42w CFLS be enough?
2.)What do I do once the plants become tall and get near the CFLS?Trim them or move them to bigger grow chamber?
3.)I am looking for good yields and I am going to try and grow 2 plants.Someone who has used this deisgn:what are was your yields?

BTW this is non Hydro, while I am growing these I will hopefuly build a grow cabinet to sprout seedlings at the top and grow 6-8 plants at the bottom.I might go with hydro hadn't decieded!

Also I am planning on growing White Widow feminsed first then mabye try white i.c.e and Blueberry.

I am in the process of doing a rubbermaid grow right now. I am ending my third week of flowering. I would go with more than 2 cfl's. I have three plants with 4 42 watt soft white cfl's and 2 23 watt daylight cfl's. I started lst'ing my plants during veg. to keep them short and that has worked out great! For pics check out my grow log in my signature. I can't comment on yields yet but I know by lst'ing them I have lots of bud sites exposed to the light an expect a decent yield for a first grow. I would also recommend using white Krylon Fusion spray paint instead of foil. Its easier to deal with and won't create hot spots. It is made for plastic and works great! Hope this helps. Good luck with your grow.:blsmoke:

Switch the aluminum foil with mylar or flat white paint, if you are trying to be cheap get the mylar paper from a party store instead of mylar from a hydro supply.

I put weatherstripping around the edge of the top tub to keep the light from escaping where the two tubs connect and I spray painted the outside black. The black spray paint helps a ton! Now with the lights on and my room dark the light only leaks out of the intake and the exhaust but as far as the tubs glowing it's light proof.

did you spray the black on the inside or outside, and if you sprayed it on the inside did you paint over it again with white?

I painted the outside of them black and inside of them white. I used Krylon Fusion spray paint for plastic. It works great!

one thing that really helped me on this design was using plexi glass in between the bulbs and plants. I hadf the plexiglass cut at Lowes to where it was completely flush with the rubber maid except for one end which had an inch or two gap. On the end opposite from the gap I had an exhaust fan pulling the air over the bulbs and out of the box. I had 12 23 watters in there and the temp stayed aroud 75 with the exhaust being 100.
