30 pint dehumidifier uses 15 AMPS?

wtf, I figured a 30 pint dehumidifier would use about 3-5 amps. So I decide to look at the specifications on the Danby 30 pint dehumidifier and I see 2 sites saying that is runs on 15 Amps. TELL ME IM READING THIS WRONG! please. otherwise im probabaly fucked... Thanks guys

15 amps for a dehumidifier just doesnt sound right to me...no way a freakin small dehumidifier will use more than my 2 hps lights....

The Danby DDR30E Dehumidifier uses 500 watts and 4.6 amps.

he's reading the recommended breaker size. not the actual consumption.
