3 x 1000W quick question..

Ok so my question is: if you already have 2 x 1000W HPS and you are looking to get another 1000W would you get another HPS or MH? It is for a 12' x 8' area. The plan is for the MH be in the middle. Or would the HPS drown out the MH? Also how much cooling is nessecary for this much lighting? Consider that each hood is air cooled. How high of a BTU rating would be sufficient for a portable a/c unit?

If this is for flowering you would want HPS. I would probably do HPS anyway. The benefit you would get from an all HPS flowering would probably outweigh having one metal halide and two HPS for vegging.

Hey now, lets not be so quick to dismiss the MH.

Granted the HPS has a higher lumen per watt ratio, but that isn't the end all be all.

First off, using the MH in flower you'll find that you'll have less of a stretch and closer internodal distance.
Along with that, having a broader colour spectrum WILL result in more resin production. Aaaaaaand its been said that UVB (which the MH has more of) is a significant contributor to the development of some suspected active cannabinoids other than the big 3 (THC, CBN, CBD)

If it was me, i'd go for the Halide.

there is nothing like real simulation of the sun by having a dual spectrum room mh and hps
