Too much light?....no, I was surmising, perhaps not enough. I don't run LED's, so if yours is sufficient, forget my comments about it.
What temps are you running; sometimes high temps will drive airy flowers.
And as you mentioned, it's quite possible simply phenotype variation.

See what some of the others here have to say...good luck.

Question - these are autos right? Why would you go to a 12/12? Bump up to 18/6, you'll get more light on your girls, they'll start to dense up.

Keep in mind that no matter what you do, as far as bud density / frostyness, led will never compare to hps. Ive had great success with led, and plan to use them in my veg tent. Flower I've decided to go hps for this very reason. I want to see the difference in quality for myself and make the determination.

I am no expert by any means, but have also experienced the wispy, light poofball buds (typically lower on the plant little popcorns) and decided to try a different approach. 600watt hps for $150 on Amazon. If you're curious

Good luck, they're looking great!! ✌

You can get just as good results with LED...just not with cheap LEDs. Most people who will tell you this have never grown in LED, have grown with cheap LEDs, or never learned how to properly dial in their growing area for LED growing. If you want really nice results from LED then it's going to cost a lot up front for proper lighting. I wish more new growers started with HPS, though, because it would help prevent so many new growers from spending money on garbage LEDs that they think are much more powerful than they actually are.

Exactly - which regrettably I've spent money on cheap garbage and now just going old skool hehe. Thx for the led info, I was wondering how high end you'd have to go with the led to get something comparable to hps?

Quality quantum boards, or strips with similar LEDs, are the best way to go right now. Timber also has some really nice COB LED lights. For cheaper Chinese versions or DIY you should expect to spend about $1 or more per watt and more than double that for prebuilt ready to go lights from companies like HLG or Timber.

its airy because the phenotype isnt the same as your more dense one.. probably needs 2 or 3 more weeks and then again it may not dense up at all.. seen this over and over.. your setup looks half decent.. genetics / pheno is like 90% of the battle, don't get caught up wondering why it's not as dense as you'd like, toss the shit pheno genetics and keep hunting for keepers.

I have 2 very successful grows on the light. It’s not a cheap light but isn’t no quantum board that’s for sure. My next grow is with a 550v2r that comes today actually. My temps are 77 ambient 81 canopy. 45RH. And if it was the light all 4 would be Airy Buds

The rest of the strips I ordered to build my new lights are arriving today, too! The only parts I'm still waiting on are the heatsinks, but they should be here by Thursday.
