So now they feel the need to raid your house,because you have 3 plants outside. SMH, abuse of power,waste of tax payers money

This is brutal. What a bunch of thugs. This is why trust with the police has been ruined. Stay the fuck as far away from any interactions with the police as you can.

The cops and the judge both broke the law. Ignorance of the law is not a defense - or that's what we're told.
The plants were not in public view and if I invite people onto my property, I have every right to show them my plants - also my property. No crime has been broken. I'd be wanting to know who was harmed from spotting a plant when they were invited to come see my garden. What happens when I call a repair guy for something or order a pizza? Am I required to kill all my medicine first?
The judge was either drunk or high when he signed a warrant to search a house because 3 LEGAL plants were OUTSIDE. I'd demand every pig and judge involved get tested for cannabis use - it's a citizen's right.
I say the good people of Revelstoke go pay Revelstoke RCMP Cst. Faron Ling and his family a visit and let his family understand they are not welcome in the community. Everyone needs to bring a non-flowering plant and a BIG bag of bud and camp out on the pigs lawn.
OR....better yet. Stick a dozen plants around his property, visible from the road, and call 911. If they don't issue a search warrant for Pig Faron Ling's house, they'll need to explain why it is okay or necessary in this case.
I've been part of running an rogue RCMP goof out of town and it's very rewarding. The head pigs don't like bad publicity and will transfer the problem to some unfortunate community in the North somewhere.

This was a big operation. A Lot of officers were involved per the article...5 officers in 3 patrol cars. Not just one rogue officer, although he was the first asshole.

A single off duty cop who visited the couples property for an event, is the one who reported them and had them raided.

Then make all of their lives miserable. Might be better to target the mayor, the mla and the mp for the city. Be quite a shame if the mayor had pot plants growing in my sight when I knocked on his door.
Doesn't matter, any first year law student could win this case and get compensation and a public apology.

The article refered to the law saying they had "non medicinal" plants in public view...

Is this because medicinal plants in public view would be an offence under health canada rules and not the cannabis act?

So a couple of months ago I had a cop come and knock on my door to tell me about some camp issues, and he walked past 4 (small) plants and he either didn't notice or didn't care. I didn't invite him so if he had noticed, would they suddenly be illegal? No!

I read the article. Even though the first asshole reported them for the raid, you would think since so many other officers were involved reason might have prevailed. But nope, they are all scum you should stay the fuck away from.

Cops are shit, RCMP are the worst of them (look at their history and why they originally were created) and should be disbanded completely.

The police were within the BC Provincial cannabis laws that the Fucking NDP made. The only silver lining is had this happened before legalization they could have been arrested and charged. Under this fucked up Provincial law they could face a fine but i doubt the Crown is stupid enough to pursue this further.

BTW under the national law any cannabis unlawfully seized it's value must be reimbursed if destroyed. So if the law is overturned in court the couple can sue the RCMP for the value of those three plants would have had at say 6 dollars a gram with a limit of 1 kg that works out to 6 grand.

To the NDP's stupid provincial cannabis laws.

And what is the legality of a warrant being granted for 3 legal plants that you can only get a fine for if they are in the wrong place? Is that part of the new Federal Act, does anyone know? Are we all liable to be raided for having plants in the wrong spot, or is that only BC's fucked up law? Storm troopers in your house for plants in the wrong spot. WTF is wrong with that judge? Those people are very lucky they weren't home at the time or the gestapo might have killed them or their dog.

I think it's fair to assume it was the one who was off duty that called for a warrant and was the one to fabricate, err explain to the judge the situation.

So both the cop and the judge acted contrary to the specified legal requisites and if the cop gave false information in his request, he committed a crime. The judge should be sanctioned or fired and the cop should be charged and fired.
Or just get some street justice. If the cops want to act like thugs, they need to be treated like thugs.

So what if they kill a mother plant? Some mother's could arguably be appraised to be worth $20000.

The judge can only hand out a warrant based on info provided by the officer. So if he decides to fudge the info or put a spin on it in a negative light the judge has no way of knowing .He wasn't there. He has to trust that the info given was correct and make a decision based on the information provided.
