2x4 grow tent + ten regular seeds

My goal is to use these ten regular seeds to make more seeds. Feminized variant would be idyllic, but not necessary at this point in time.

However, I'd like to hit two birds with one stone, if you get my gist. In addition to obtaining the seeds for a future grow I'd also like to get two females as well.

My concern is the limited amount of space I have to work with. It takes between four and six weeks of veg time to determine whether or not the plant is a female, three to four weeks to determine if it's male. Realistically, how large should the pot be to adequately hold a plant that's three to six weeks old? How many of these pots can I fit inside of my tent?

And further, I would like to place two plant pots inside the tent. what size of pot am I looking to acquire where two will fit snugly inside of a 2x4?

I have a T5 fluorescent light in addition to my grow light.

How should I go about achieving this end?

Two snugly with no wiggle room would be pretty big pots, 20 gallon maybe? Larger than Necessary if you aren't planning an extended veg time. I'd go with four or fewer plants in 3 or 5 gallon final pots. Not all plants will show sex before you flip them, though many do. If you have a space that you can set up off to the side you can sex clones before you flip.

You won't get any seeds without a female. Are you trying to grow weed to smoke and weed to breed in the same 2x4 tent? You're going to have to put your males in a separate area if that's what you're trying to do. And then just pollinate certain branches that you want pollinate. Growing a male in the same tent will pretty much guarantee everything will be pollinated.

With regard to what pot size would be ideal for two plants in a 2x4..

Depends what your medium is.

2x 3-5 gal in coco would easily be enough .

Soil its probably 5-7 gal.

That's if your talking in feet and not meters.

Keep mini mums is the only way but you gonna need another box or something for them and the t5 your tent your gonna have to accept that if you gonna run males and females to make more seed its gonna be all seeded first run at least but if you take cuts and veg em while you doing the seed run then least once thats done you can chuck clones straight in for some flower however you gonna have to clean that tent so thoroughly inbetween to prevent the flower run being seeded from the last run

Because they're regular seeds the chances of male plants appearing is pretty high so I figure why not put them to use? I'd rather not just throw them away.

The strain that I want didn't have feminized versions of these seeds, for whatever reason. And I was only able to find two seed depots that carried it. So I'd rather not fork out the $70 or $80 that I paid for these seeds if possible.

How many seeds should I pop at first? Five perhaps? I just don't wanna do this incorrectly and then have to go buy more seeds

In a 2x4 tent tho? I read that more than two five gallon pots gets pretty crowded inside of there.

when you make mention of a space off to the side, what do you mean? like a incubator tray of sorts? or something that I construct myself? I have a nice bit of closet space and several sheets of mylar film, plus a T5 light.

I grew 4 plants in 5 gallon pots in a 2x4 my second grow. It worked out great. I grew a pound, but 2 would have been a smarter choice. It depends on how soon you are going to flip them to flower. I would in retrospect have grown 2 plants in 5 gallons, and kept it at that. But you can do more if you keep on top of everything.
By a space off to the side i mean somewhere that you can isolate small cuttings and give them 12/12 lighting. Even a cardboard box works if you put a computer fan to exhaust and a CFL lamp. you don't need these to stay alive and healthy for long. Just a few weeks to see what sex parts they show, then toss, so underlighting them is fine.

I would pop all the seeds in 1gl fabric pots Have 3 5gl pots ready, veg a week and flip, 15 to 20 days later select the one male and 2 best females. Drop the whole 1gl fabric into the 5gl with the losers soil. You could do it with less. I just like to select my male for structure, internodal spacing, color, smell.:peace:

For the 12/12 lighting, would the T5 fluorescent light suffice for it?

Also. These cuttings should be taken after the three week mark, correct?

Your t5 will flower cuttings for sexing, yeah. So long as you keep to 12/12 once you cut them. And you can start taking cuttings as soon as the donor plant gives you material. Three weeks from seed could be, but it is more based on how healthy they are.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I think I'm gonna take you up on the advice offered to do a space off to the side to sex the cuttings. I'm having hard time locating a computer fan though, I can find a CFL bulb for like, $5 and a extension socket and cord to plug it into. Do I really need to have a fan on as well? Or can I just put the light and cuttings into a dark space somewhere?

Also. I have 4.00 round pots that I used for my last grow. I jumped them into 5 gallon grow bags successfully the last time, would I be able to grow seedlings/plants big enough to obtain cuttings from inside of one of those 4.00 pots or say, those red party cups I often see people posting pictures of on this site?

A few weeks is long enough for an insidious mold infestation to take root, but that doesn't mean it will happen. So long as they are far enough from your main plants that you can nuke them with bleach or pure alcohol from orbit, you do you. As someone who smokes only shit they grow, I wouldn't want to risk smoking moldy harvests by accident though, so I always exhaust.
