260W QB V2 RSPEC LED Or 135W QB V2 Rspec LED Kit in a 2x4 tent

Hello guys,

I am looking for some new lights and after researching it seems like the HLG are good lights to invest in.

I am looking to use a 2x4 tent for flowering and due to wanting to setup a perpetual grow I was thinking that it might be best to use two separate lights instead of one light in the tent to accommodate possible height difference

now I am wondering if I would be pushing it too much trying to use two 260watts in a 2x4 and if I should just work with two of the 135w or maybe the height differences won’t be an issue and just one 260w might be better although the 2 135s would give an extra 10w together.

also not sure how much heat they give off and if that will end up being an issue in the tents.

let me know some opinions and suggestions

The 320W triple kit may be perfect for that size tent, you said 2x260 kits may be overkill. Just some FYI..for some unknown reason HLG wasn't consistent on how they label their kits. The single and double boards are labeled for watts at the wall and the triple is labeled for driver output. The actual drivers on the single and double are 120W and 240W.
I just finished building a triple for a 3x5 and after addressing some heat issues I think it will be the perfect light. One thing I would advise if building a kit would to definitely use thermal joint compound. For like $8 for an ounce of the stuff why the hell wouldn't you add extra protection to a $400 investment?

I run a perpetual as well, harvesting every month. I had Lowe's cut me up some 8"x*8" blocks to place under plants and level my tops.

I like the block idea to level out the plants

I am currently waiting on a spider farmer sf2000. Once it gets here I will have that, and an sf1000 in my 2x4.

Edit: As far as heat issues go, I've also upgraded my fans to AC infinity. Installing a portable AC just in case.

You can squeeze 450W outta those triple boards, but it will need a good amount of active cooling.
